Except you can just run the maze as normal, without the ladder shortcut, flipping the valves like you did the first time through. Or do the valves further into the maze cut off the path to themselves when you flip them?

Of course the horn door that the mobs shut on your way through would still be shut, and you still wouldnt have the horn to open it, so THAT would effectively bar your way

Yeah that's the caveat about the solo zerg method. If you don't manage to drop the ladder, you'll have to acquire the Horn of Cunning in order to make it through the maze a 2nd time, essentially defeating the purpose of using this method. In other words, it would have been faster just to get the Horn in the first place!

Also, when in the room with the Horn of Agility, wait for the door to shut behind you before picking up the Horn. When you do pick up the Horn, the door will open again for a short time. If you don't wait for it to close first, it doesn't re-open, and you will be stuck in the room with no one on the outside to pull the lever and let you back out again.
Was just wondering if this was still possible. The last post on the subject was about 10 months ago. I tried it last night about 5 times and could not get past the guards after the maze. I could get to the doors before they closed them, but there were 3 of them blocking the doorway and I couldn't get through. Anyone try it lately?

I believe that in a recent(ish) patch, they have placed an invisible barrier here to prevent zerg rushing the door before the mobs animate and close it.

I have tried to rush it a couple of different times now (30% striding, hasted, and barb sprint), and I have impotently hit an invisible force barrier, and have sat there watching the mobs retreat inside and swing the door closed.

Bummer. Oh well, I did get to know the maze a little better during my several failed attempts. I was getting there in time, it just seemed like I was bouncing off of the guards. Thanks for the info.

Confirmed. You can no longer move past a swinging door, as there in an invisible barrier on the door during the swing motion. So it will take 2 people to complete, as per the initial post. Still, if you follow this method precisely, it takes as little as 2 minutes to complete the maze.

I was able to get through the maze by myself with ease (not grabbing the horn though). I could pull "K" and get through the door while it was closing. What I couldn't do was get past the guards that close the doors where you use the first horn, even though I was getting there before they started to close the doors.
