    Soloing it shouldn't be happening for many then.
    Unless it's bogging the entire server hosting instances with monks, which would be pretty danged easy to test, they'd just have to disable the monk class for a day and see if the problem persists, gets worse, or gets better.

    Another consideration oft overlooked is the whole per account grade server prioritization. We all seem to forget about that or assume it's only affecting login during heavy login dense periods like just after downtime or patches.

    Wouldn't it be interesting if the server when under extreme load dropped or stopped responding to f2p first, then premium, and if it ran out of them without load improvement moved on to vip.

    Traffic prioritization by account class. Hmm.

    ... And another lag wipe or near wipe... This time in epic Last Stand, something that without lag I can easily solo.

    Really getting sick of this. And sorry to the group I ragequit on after a True Resurrection went off 20 seconds after I clicked 'accept', only for me to die before I could cast a single spell.

    It's why my subscription is staying canceled until they fix it and/or I decide to check out how things are going. Tired of failing on level 2 and 3 quests with my TR because of lag. It's getting a bit ridiculous.

    agree. going to cancel vip over this. I really liked the elite opens, but i also really like playing with no server lag.

    A little nervous about this.

    Been out of town since Friday and not back til tomorrow evening.

    I haven't really noticed any lag personally, but I'll check again.

    While on the web, such as now. I sometime see that DDO has crashed. The game is crashing while I am not even playing it! I have a program that will show me when any program crashes and will offer a solution to fix it. And yes, it say's there is no solution yet. Go figure.
    And don't get me started on the lag issue. It is so unplayable at times for me.

    Been noticing a lot of spells taking a long time to go off or not go off at all. Glad I cancelled my sub.

    the lag you guys are experiencing is exactly what i play with all the time lol
    and thats not an exaggeration :P

    and when i feel the extra lag well i cant even move at all lol.

    U9 brought in several things all server related...

    1. Crafting system... almost similar to vendoring - delete item but plus an additional add item - Yet I know is the actual recipe search engine xCrafters which poise a real performance hit. Btw... all DBA's will tell you the most intensive work on a DB is an "delete."
    2. Restructure of autocrit to 50% more damage from all sources. Consider this in the past the calc was (base rolled + damage mod)xCritMod now it's (base rolled + damage mod)(xPossibleCritMod)x1,5 and a separate elementalrollx1,5 and classEnhancementx1,5 and alignmentx1,5 and etc...
    3. Spell pass ... Is one thing fighting in an icestorm in PrE u9 as AoE always added some lag but now Post u9 we've every Wiz and Sorc tossing and stacking them on top a DoT and then nuking on top with a restructure of spell cooldowns and sla casters actually Cast up to twice as quickly as they have in the past.


    We have multiple instances and multiple users all in all even on multiple processers all these things need calculated processed and pakaged and sent back to clients...

    One interesting thing is I can tell when someone is bout to DC, I start receiving the lag myself even though I am not the one losing the connection... reason being is our packets are being mixed in with resends to the person who is DC'ing. Your client takes information on every single one in the party ... their health, thier mana, the live state one person out of sync bubbles down to you in the chain of things. The engine tries to synce the entire party in many ways.

    Interesting. Makes me cringe to think what the calculations of savant spell damage on helplessmmobs are doing to the server.

    Your last point about syncing- is this the reason that when someone targeted by a mass cure DCs, no one gets hit? It seems like there is little reason to do this, unless it is helping with the lag, which I strongly doubt.

    This one has been the case for a long time, and is the cause of many a wipe in DQ2 and many a near-wipe in VON6.

    Ran shroud late last night. Went well, mostly. Normal lag levels until part 4. Half the party died and one fighter DC'd just before we killed Harry. Part 5 was smooth, though the fighter never reconnected, so his dc may have been to blame. Still saw some major lag loading in to the game and a few times on the guild ship. Might be better, or it might just have reset the stacking lag DoT.

    I'm only really noticing lag after switching around for a bit to work on inventory and such.

    All I've done recently is defrag and clean out my comp, and reinstall the game.

    I also ran the program defrag that stainer had posted somewhere around here....

    You might just need a reinstall of the client though. Since U9, with all the crafting and recipes, it might have had a fragmentation effect on the game files themselves.

    Ran a shroud tonight. On part 4, I would cast a heal and count a full 3 seconds before it would register and actually heal anyone.

    Everyone was lagging out, not just me this time.

    Full party zerging XP in GH last night. Orange alerts etc, really can't say my lag was worse than normal.

    Then again I am used to compensating for the "I'm not in the USA" lag.

    The crippling lag seems to have mostly died down after U10. Interesting to say the least.

    I've still had a few moments where places like the Sub and Shroud are down to 1 frame every couple of seconds. Even had the game freeze and my screen go completely black for about 5 seconds before it resumed normal working earlier today just outside Prey while killing some spiders. NEVER had that happen before. Very weird.

    If the lag is gone now, then awesome. If it's just slowly building back up, then very not awesome. Gonna wait it out for about a month and see how it goes.
