Default Vague idea for S&B build...

Hi everyone, long time forum lurker, just created an account because I had a couple ideas to throw at people, and wanted the great builders here to give some feedback, all welcome.

First I hadda bunch of nice Bastard Swords saved up for a possible future character (bit of an altaholic... ;P), and was thinking about making a WF Kensai II/DoS I/(Rog or Mnk) 2. Would use THF with a greatsword (or some two hander, doesn't matter much) most of the time, and have Bsword and shield for tanking. Should have quite decent saves+evasion, and I *think* with a gear-grind could have AC possibilities (but what AC toon doesn't have a bit of a grind right?). Questions here: A) would it have enough threat gen? I'm thinking with Divine Righteousness, WF hate amp enh, and some Dragontouched incite it could be enough, that is why i am asking. B) Would the THFing dps be worthwhile?

Anyway thanks for looking, curious to see what people think, if the general consensus is it could be worthwhile overall then I will see about making an actual build, a favorite pastime of mine. Also, if you think of any other builds that would have similar playstyles with different splits/races I would LOVE to hear em!

    Cheers

Something i started playing with is a human DOS III/rogue 2

    Human 18/2 (pally/rog)
    16 STR
    08 DEX
    14 CON
    16 INT
    08 WIS
    14 CHA

16 INT & human gets you 6 skill points per pally level, enough for max search, disable & umd. Rogue levels at 1 & 10 for extra points into balance, concentration etc. +2 tome at 7 means you can also pop 15 ranks into intimdate (2 at 1st + 13 from levels - maybe more)

**edit - needs CE/Towershield prof etc for DoS, maybe a 12/6/2 split would be better?**
    THF
    iTHF
    gTHF
    Bastard Sword
    PA
    Toughness
    Extend
    iCRIT:Slashing

saves, evasion, hate tanking (DOS & equipment), rogue skills, S&B turtling, whip out a falchion when you want to DPS

2hf with a falchion on a pally rocks, but needs more pally levels to make the most of it (more smites, exhalted smite 3 at least etc)

Been discussed on a few threads, but for pally, falchion > anything except SOS (does depend a little on modifiers)

    Default That is an idea

Hmm that looks kinda interesting, thanks for the input vox. I was considering more pally, only reason was unsure of that was kinda wanted more feats, importantly Shield Mastery, possibly more toughnesses, and, if it had potential for AC, C.E. as well.

Sorry for going off topic of what you actualy asked for - bit tired here :/

Check out the Big Rock Candy build by Anthios888, should be adaptable to your kensaiII/DoS/Monk or Rogue

    Both give evasion;
Rogue would give you umd, more skillpoints & sneak attack
Monk would give you more AC (possibly), feats & better saves

There is another build somewhere with shows an easy way to get high AC on a SDIII/monk, i forget the name though

Feat order & enhs can be tweaked, just wanted to see if we could fit everything in, and the answer seems to be "mostly." Not sure what kinda AC you could get out of this build; probably something a little less than BRC. Monk 2 splash would add two more feats (I dunno what - Stunning Blow & Quick Draw maybe?), but AC gets more complicated.

I have seen the BigRock build around, and quite like the idea, and I think it could convert to THFing quite easily with a few feat changes. The potential problem I saw with BRCM is that it was (pretty sure) made when S&B turtling was viable through intimidate, and with the new intimidate non-total lockdown from U9, I was worried about it holding agro through melee dps. That was the reason for the 6 pally levels, I hoped Div Righteousness could remedy the problem. Also Thanks Unbongwah, that is exactly the sort of thing I had tentatively drawn up for myself, so looking like that is what I will do if looks ok to people. BTW have read a good # of your builds unbongwah, learned a lot from reading em!

    Thanks all

I was a Big Rock Candy type tank and when I saw u9 would kill my build, I TR'd into a barbarian to run through that past life while I figured out my next build that could handle u9. Here is my current S&B build. Appreciate any comments.
