This build is a self healing staff user with high survivability and high self sufficiency. The name Dancing Angel comes from the combination of the Prestige Enhancements Thief-Acrobat and Angel of Vengeance as this build focuses on using quarterstaves.
The 13 rogue levels are for the boost to quarterstaves as well as haste boost, sneak attack and trap skills.
The 6 favored soul levels provide self healing through leveling as well as some defensive options. The recent decrease in spell point cost for cure spells has made this a very cost efficient way of healing. The amount of healing is boosted by healing amplification.
The one monk level provides the stances, which allow situational boosts to saves, attack and damage, healing amplification with jidz-tetka and attack speed. Also an additional feat is provided.
For race I chose Half-Elf, as this allows a dilettante feat. I went with paladin for the saves, however as the build only has one level of monk the monk dilettante would also be a viable option for additional healing amplification although this would require more points in wisdom.
With the paladin dilettante the saves get pretty high and even with another dilettante they are very good.
Saves: F/R/W
Rogue: 4/8/4
Monk: 2/2/2
FvS: 5/5/5
Dil: 5/5/5
Base: 16/21/16
Ability: 7/4/7 (Estimated values. With the right gear these get much higher)
Resistance: 5/5/5
Water Stance: 2/2/2
Greater Heroism: 4/4/4
Luck: 2/2/2
Imp. Uncanny Dodge: 0/6/0
Total: 34/42/34
Trap: +6
Trap save: 48 (Reflex)
(I might have let out something to further increase saves. Also I didn’t add guild buffs.)
I focused on high UMD to be able to use Heal scrolls, which along with the very high healing amplification heal for a good amount. This also gives access to fire shield scrolls which may prove useful situational.
I went for good bluff as the changes to the skill allow heavy threat reduction allowing more sneak attacks and to make up for the low hp (which still easily gets over 400 and with good end game gearing can get more than decent.)
For feats I considered dropping Force of Personality, as the saves are already quite high however I haven’t thought of what to replace it with yet. Perhaps Skill Focus: UMD or Stunning Blow would be more useful.
If going monk dilettante the obvious would probably be to drop charisma for wisdom.
Thoughts?
