    He is also contracted to write at least one episode per season. He wrote "The Pointy End" this year and is writing the "Battle of the Blackwater" for next year. Like some others, I am disappointed we didn't get to see more large battles due to budget constraints, but G.R.R.M. says that we will see that battle for sure, although slightly less epic than the print version.

    Ahh, good. I remember when I read that "The Seeker" was coming out. I was excited as i'm a fan of Goodkind. Sadly the series was not what I had hoped for.

    Awesome. I am really happy with the series, Martin worked out a pretty sweet deal, they are doing a really quality job on the series. Some serious cash being spent. Also, they are keeping to the very adult tone of the books. Kind of like Borgias, Camelot, Spartacus, but with better source material. All of the scenes, including the sex scenes, are straight out of the book. I'm really loving it.

    The lack of script immunity was shocking in the books. The first shock wasn't too shocking, but the next big one had me reading for the next two or three chapters expecting the character to get a pass.

    Sean Bean was stabbed in a bar fight.

    If his head would of been cut off that would of been too surreal! lol

    Yeah, the tv series is kind of awful, though the Mord-Siths in the series have their own appeal

    Happy with it so far. Not sure about the whole knight of roses/remly affair, but whatev. They are both prettyboys in teh books so its not a huge leap to go there.

    GRRM has the ability to take someone who is an antagonist in one book, and turn him into the protagonist in the next. One minute your praying for someones death, the next your praying he scrapes through it unscathed. I enjoyed that about the novels.

I guess everybody takes surprises like that differently.
    My wife knew what was coming and still had about the same reaction.

    My reaction - Finally! A series that followes the original plot and isn't all about good always winning. It is something i've always hoped to happen but not seen before. Thumbs up.

    With as true to the books as they've been, I would've been more upset if they HADN'T killed him in the show. It's too big a plot point for it to be avoided.

    Now, reading through the books, my general thought was "Is there a main character that he ISN'T going to kill?" Even more than Ned's execution, the Bloody Wedding hit me harder than the others.

    I didn't watch this episode yet and so the OP is a spoiler but well, people, really? It is Shean Bean and we saw him die in Lord of The Rings, we saw him die in Black Death, we saw him sad and suffering in Silent Hill, so what was he probably doing in this series....? No real suprise for me .

    Well I waited two days and it is all over EW and the net, but sorry anyway. If I ever meet Sean Bean I have only one question to ask him: "Have you been in anything where you haven't died?"

    LoTR = Died

    Goldeneye = Died

    The Field = Died

    GoT = Died

    I know I haven't seen everything he's done, but he sure dies a lot!

    I think the only thing I haven't seen him die in was that movie with Jodie Foster where he was the airline pilot and she was looking for her daughter who vanished mid-flight.

    That would have been an awesome film if they would have left the supernatural premise in and got rid of the silly excuse.

    Sean Bean's best death scene was "Equilibrium" in my view.

    Anyway, rant aside. I haven't read the book in years. Forgot what happened to him, but he was one of my favorite characters. George R.R. Martin likes to make someone seem epic, then kill them off.

    Still loving the show though. It's amazing. I'd love for HBO, Showtime, Starz or AMC to pick up "The Wheel of Time" and do it as right as this series has been done.

    Let's face the other side of Ned Stark, many people might say, he is stubborn and narrowmined I say he walked the path of his principals even if he knew it lead to death. But still...

    And if this is true... he might take his roles too serious. Good he survived
