Armor Kits - Increase Sales

If armor kits were toggle-able to ALL your armor indefinitely after purchase, that would work much better.

Why would a lvl 1 buy an armor kit that he'll replace 5 minutes later? He won't.

I also don't like the idea of having to purchase an armor kit remover.. that seems kind of silly.

If it's a requirement, say because of the way the database works, at least make it cost 1 TP!

Anyway, I really want to start purchasing armor kits, but I'm not gonna' if they don't change things. D;

OG, forgive me, I'm about to agree with H4X...

The current design of skins means, as H4X indicates, that I tend to only buy skins for the "last armor" a character will be wearing. The binding doesn't make me buy more. If anything it makes me buy less because with TRing I may not even stay L20 for long so it hardly seems worth it much of the time. Even when I buy I keep it to the cheap armors, I can't bring myself to buy the 300+pt armor skins that only be worn for a cpl weeks.

I don't understand at all why they didn't go with a BTA clickie similar to the hat skins. That still means one purchase has to stick with 1 character at a time, but it can be moved to someone else later if you want. It also means it can be applied to whatever you are wearing at that point in your life. If the armor skins were like that, I'd probably have a good sized inventory of them so I could dress appropriately at all levels for all races/characters

It's something Turbine should look at again. (Not that they will since it was put in forum that the devs who do graphics will never look at...nice OP)

1 armor kit for your DT armor

......just sentuple the price of armor kits and make them perm for all armors on that character.

I would love this change but to play Arraetrikos' advocate, seeing the number of skins people sport around I suspect Turbine likes things fine and dandy the way they are.

I wouldn't be surprised to see helm, shield and weapon skins soon.
