You need to wear armour, otherwise you look silly.

That being said: guards and healing amp are two great reason to wear armour.

when wearing tier 3 cavalry plate versus light armor, the ac difference was negligable (like 4 points). This was on an 18/2 fighter/monk. In favor of the plate. I think if you want to splash monk, have a high enough wisdom bonus to surpass the heavy armor, and shield difference. Or better yet, get your light armor ac to 80 and you should be good to go.

However, I'm wondering if it actually makes any sense, seeing as how splashing a single monk level does more for my Kensai AC than any armour (and thank you Devs for making Fighter Armor Mastery so expensive- 12 APs to get +3 Dex?) plus of course I lose any evasion I'd get from a 2 rogue/2 monk splash.

So just curious, am I missing something? Other than for the look (which is pretty much why I'm doing it) does any set of medium/heavy armour actually contribute as much as a robe wearing Monk splash? I'm probably going to wear the armour, it's just that it seems like I'm seriously gimping my AC (and losing evasion) by trying to use armour.
I hope you wear armor or at least a robe. No one wants to see your junk hanging out.

Although, if you're a WF then you're fine not wearing armor.

Actually that would be even better, now that I think about it. Now if we nerf casters and monster HP's as well we would have a much more balanced game.
