My main has a 31 Fort save. That's high enough to ignore anything Deathblock protects against... right?
(I don't know because I stopped paying attention after I got a Mabar Epic Cloak of Night).
Thanks in advance.

In most quests (at endgame) deathblock is not so important because of mass deathward cast by divines while party buffing.
+31 fort is good, but not great. If you wont be deathwarded and take your deathblock off, some mobs can instakill you on epic/endgame elite, with unlucky dice roll.
My reply to this:
Deathblock blocks instant death effects as in they don't effect you period
With the new spell pass and the update the amount of damage inflicted on a successful save has gone up.
So, are you ok with taking 100+ points of damage at any point in time with a small chance that you could just be killed outright. My lvl 17 Wizard was seeing 179 points of damage on a save with FoD.
Also keep in mind that having both increases you potential of survival especially in higher levels where Disjunction could come into play.
There are few places in the game you need deathblock, except against beholders. The thing with beholders, however, is:
1) You are usually debuffed unless you are lucky and maneuver correctly
2) Your current fort save is only a counter that ticks down as you gain negative levels, unless you are warforged or have enervation protection.
My primarily melee characters always wear deathblock, but my bard and caster simply carry a spare dragontouched robe/shroud for situations that call for it. Other situations include some of the boss/rare vampires, some orange-named casters, and chaos orbs.
Doesnt matter if your fort save is over nine THOUSAND!!!!
you still fail on a 1.
