We had our elections a while ago and this morning it struck me that all pts and raids in DDO are pretty much dictatorships. This causes problems for the party leaders too as some are ill-suited to responsibility and some simply dislike it.
In some not-to-be-named games this is circumvented by raid finders or what did they call it.
An other, less anonymous solution would be to add small elements of democracy:P Bare with me with the wording What I suggest is that after some1 applies to a pt, all current members have a 5 sec voting time to accept or decline. Not voting counts as accept. Some percentage of votes required (e.g. 30 or 50%) for acceptance.
The same can be applied to kicking. Both out of dungeon and in dungeon. To kick in dungeon, all other votes are needed (the char being voted on won't see the vote being happening) and to kick outside of a dungeon e.g. 50% are needed. I would also suggest a penalty for kicking in dungeon to both the char voted out AND the group that kicked him. The penalty shouldn't be too harsh. It could be e.g. pp or debuff to loot or abilities. And the inability to refill maybe. Kicking someone disconnected should maybe have a timer of e.g. 3 mins for a kick without penalty.
Anyway, the current system creates unnecessary gripes and hard fealings and I think the voting system would help. Kicking from party is another topic, but IMO possible and not too hard to implement with a voting system such as the one described above.
