Default Any way to turn off Vet?

I got a bunch of friends just getting into this game and I'd like to roll a new character with them. The veteran status will auto-level me though and send me straight to the city. I know I can go back to the tutorial island, that's not the problem. I don't really want to be ahead in levels and gimp the exp they get.

at the ship you can choose to not go to lev 4 by saying this is just a dream or something, and get sent to korthos

When you talk to the girl who gives exp to you, choose the dialogue that say it's a dream.
I think it's the last option.

Yes. In the first dialogue on the boat. I can't remember the exact wording.

The first time you talk to her on teh ship there is an option you can pick that will cancel out the veteran status. Something like "This is all just a dream isnt it" and it will say "skip this and go to korthos".

Just read the options when you talk to her and I'm sure you can figure it out.

Oh wow! Can't believe I've always missed that option >.>. I've never bothered to read the responses to her question... I figured they all were pretty meaningless, haha.
