multi monitor support

Okay, so I'm building a new rig, this will be my first rig to use eyefinity support and I am trying to decide on some things.

I'm considering going with 3x either 24" or 27" Widescreen monitors, looking at either 1980x1080 or 1980x1200 resolutions on a single XFX Radeon HD 6990

Now I've heard of people sayign they have 3x monitors running in 4:3, but I haven't seen anyone posting about widescreen on more modern stuff.

Does anyone know if more modern setups are supported better? Does it work with all widescreen monitors? Does the resolution for such a setup drag out the hot bars badly?

Does anyoen with a 3x widescreen setup on a modern card have screen shots they can take of their desktop so I can see what the viewing angle looks like?

yes the three wide screen setup is best if possible...

the infinity setup will make every screen on that card the same screen size! <<< lagrest size all screens can do>>
in my setup i had two 19 in square screens on sides of my 22 inch wide screen, and i had to choose to either squish my sides by useing a three wide screen setup ...or ... streach my mid by the 3x 4:3 setup...
so now im just running the 3x wide screen and it rocks...
got so much "real estate" i dont know what to put where...

not to mention i have a second video card for another 2 montiors above the three for the game...
not game related but gives me room for wiki maps and stuff...he he he

looking at that card you plan to use it looks like you be able to go up to 6 monitors under the eyefinity setup
with an adaptor for a display port pushing 2 monitors, the display ports normally and the dvi port ...

on a side note id like to see the game handle 2 monitors...
the original reason i was looking for support on muti monitors was so we could have one screen for the game and be able to have the second or "side" screen for info and chat...
without pushing the center of the action to the mid between the screens...
mabye even just a simple option of a slider to center you char...
i had the game working great on 2 screens but hard to play "split like that"
but if my char was on left screen and chat and stuff on right...wow imagine that...

I only have dual screen : 3860*1080. Two 22.1" widescreen monitors. ( sorry for the image size )

so you have the issue of your char split down the mid of the two screens yes?

Yes sadly.

But my current PC wouldn't accept a 3 screen setup ( too old, pre-core rig, not enough correct PCI-E for 2 graphic cards ), otherwise I would have gone the 3 screen way.

Once you're used to it it doesn't bother much... as long as the split between your two screens isn't too large.

( for example I wouldn't try it with the screens I have at work as the black line in the middle would be almost 9 cm large... while at home it is barely 3cm )
