Dwarf gets hit by the trap while the rogue is looking for it, but is only incap.
we say, "heal them before the trap activates again."

Rogue finds the trap and starts to disable (was cursed). Trap activates. Dwarf is dead.

Pally apologizes, he had wandered back down the tunnel and didnt notice in time for a LoH. Cleric says he was not looking at the screen.
I could tell they were all much newer than me, when one of them referred to the Sorc in robes as a monk....

Unless they're a finesse build, they would be better off using a greataxe or something similar than single rapier, and they should be using a shield regardless.

Rogues do not have proficiency with Great Axes (or any Martial Weapons besides Rapiers, Short Swords, and Short Bows, so a rapier is the best weapon for critable Mobs) or Shields... they get a penalty to hit but thanks for helping prove the point of the thread

haha (in the voice of nelson mund). Thelanis pugs rule. Have had only ONE bad pug experience, in that people just didn't stick together... Yup, Thelanis for the win, baby.
Nah, just kidding, pugs can be frustrating, but real people beat dumb-arsed-mercs any day.

Yes at low level you will find lots of new players, yes, they are not the most uber on the server, yes, they will die a lot.
Now thats out the way shall we stop going on about it? If i pug (which i dont) i fully except the above statements when i join. I love the way people post about it every five minutes like its special, just solo and stop the whole "pugs are rubbish and im so uber" its getting way boring now.

I joined a delera pug the other day. Said "Doing delera chain on normal, farming pt2 and 4 for exp TR speed" or something like that. In it were 2 wf sorcs. I was like "cool, i'll join with my bard and probably be able to pike all the way". Well, no.

We entered part 1. One of the wf sorcs was on the ground before I even destroyed all the sarcophagi in the entrance room. I used my cure mod on him. Healed him for 20 or something (sup ardor owns), which was 1/2 his hp. At level 5 as a WF? Something didn't seem right... The other sorc was basically the same. In the end, I waited for them to ding and put them in my backpack, pulled out my holy greatclub and duo'd the quest with a monk that joined a couple minutes in. After part 1, I went to get my charged gloves and frost helmet and whatnot (because it was apparent I'd be needing them by now), and the group fell apart before I got back.

Similar experience in elite shadow crypt a couple weeks ago. I put up a lfm for a firewaller, because I hate ghosts. TR WF wiz joins, and I'm "oh cool, this will be easy". I don't think he used any self heals (we had no healer, he did have some rep light pots though!), and after a while it was apparent his max hp had to be about 70-90. At level 9, on a TR'd WF? Uhhhh....

On the other hand, I've had some good experience in sands/GH lately. Did sands hards and GH hards/elites with a random groups (some TR, some not), and it was all nice runs (some deaths here and there, but that's only to be expected in a pug on elite :P).

Disclaimer: I don't mind people with low hp, as long as they can keep themselves alive. It's the people with low hp that can't that tick me off. (high hp people that can't are ok, they soak damage at least, and are easier to keep healed).

Did you miss the part where the OP has been away from the game for something like 3 years? They're just musing about how the quality of pugs has changed. Lighten up.

oh the boards have gotten much worse over the past 3 years. it's almost to the point that if you aren't praising Turbine every 2 minutes you're getting slapped for something. oh well, there is still greasing people in VoN 6 and Tempest Spine, or the traps in that quest in the Gardens in Reaver's Refuge.

Huh, ran in an elite Butcher's Path pug yesterday, wiped except for my level 4 freshly rolled rogue, so I quickly left. There was a rogue using 1 (one!) rapier and nothing else, I'm ashamed Argo. I enjoy grouping, but if you give me this, I will start to solo a lot more.
