This will be on my shelf. I do enjoy playing Oblivion and Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and am glad this coming too.

What was the problem with Oblivion? I thought it was pretty good.

The largest problem was IMO, the scaling system. Took all challenge and fun out of the game for me.

Closing Oblivion gates got really old, really fast. The realm of Oblivion was cool at first, but after the third or fourth time it was an eyesore with all the reds and oranges and browns. It was also repetitive and boring after awhile. Zerg to the top of the tower, get the power source, close the gate.

Combat was irritating and felt clunky. It was also pretty limited.

There didn't seem to be much purpose to the game, the main story was meh, there were a total of five different voice actors (or so it seemed) and the dialog was painful at times.

The worst part was the scaling; you never felt like you were actually all that powerful since things leveled up with you. On top of that, to get the most out of your character you had to raise your secondary abilities to maximize your attributes before leveling. It just felt completely counter-intuitive to me.

There were enjoyable parts to it, but ultimately it felt stale and got boring quickly - I could only take it in small doses here and there...but I felt like I should be totally lost in the world. I wasn't.

while oblivion had its flaws the assassin house quest line was worth buying the game for. if you played oblivion and never did that series of quests then you missed one of the coolest gaming experiences ever.

also... EVERY flaw in bethesda games (the fallouts and elder scrolls) can be fixed with user created content if you play on the PC. if you dont play them on the PC well... that sucks for you. not only can they fix annoying problems or mechanics they can add hundreds of hours (literally) to your gameplay. cant wait for skyrim!

Not to mention the unbelievably terrible load times on the PS3. Absolutely ridiculous. It's what made me stop playing.

Shouldn't need to A) play on the PC B) rely on modded content to make the core game enjoyable.

    (I played it on PC).

I am incredibly sad now, I dont want to wait 5 more months for this. I must have it NOW. Btw I will be on hiatus for DDO starting 11/11/11. DDO has got to compete for my time now
