New crafting bug or did I just hit an extremely unlucky streak?

I just had my crafting character deconstruct 25+ items mostly between levels 3 to 5 (as far as the essence check goes) and didn't get any straight greater essences, everything was lesser. On 2 items I got a total of 2 greater essences after it doles out the lessers and does the bonus check.

I haven't run into anything like this since crafting started. Anyone else have that happen? Does this sound like a bug or did I hit the worst run of luck in crafting to date?

are you watching the actually chat window to see what you got? The notification that pops up on the screen always says "x lesser essence has been put in your bag" and never mentions the greater, but if you watch the chat, it will say both. But yes, it seems that there is a small chance to get greaters.

I was watching the chat log and that is where I saw the 2 times I got the bonus greaters. I have never had a run before where I only got lessers on that many deconstructions so I thought I would see if it was just me having the snafu, if they changed the coding on how the deconstruction essences are calculated, or if it seemed a bit wonky to anyone else.

It seems a streak of bad luck. I had an excess of lesser essences and crafted a number of lvl 1 shards (4 lessers per shard). I then processed these shards again for essences. I would, of course, get level 1 amounts, but I noticed that in a significant number of cases of the shards I would get a large essence. I did not take notes, but I believe in some cases I would get 10 greater essences in a row.

The message you get, in so far as I have observed, seems to display only the latest addition to your essences and greater ones are always named last. So I think that you would always see if you gained greater essences in the message.

I've had an unlucky streak for a couple of days now too, with just a handful of greaters. I really think at least one or two greaters should be guaranteed on level 4-5 deconstructions.

I actually recorded my deconstructions and Ive seen a few strings of no greaters. (It contains well over 2000 recordings)

It works out over time thou, Ive also had strings of many greaters.

Of 25, I would expect 25 / 3 = 8.33 generations of greaters. An observation of 2 in 25 trials is 2 +/- 10, so it fits.

Wouldn't be so bad if we could convert lessers to greaters, not just greaters to lessers.

I am up to 56 items deconstructed now with only a couple being lower than level 3. I have only received Greaters 3 times and they were the bonus essences of 1 to 2 after you get the Lessers. Something is definately goofy. Previous to the addition of unbound crafting (I am not saying these go hand in hand, just that it happens to be the same timeframe that Greater essences stopped being created for me) when I broke down level 3 through 5 items, I had a much higher percentage of Greater essences being made. Guesstimate about 25%.

Just to sum up, with the last 56 items I have deconstructed (mostly craft level 3 to 5) I have received a total of 4 Greater essences, but only as bonus ones. Twice I got 1 and the third time I got 2.

Does this sound overly strange? Has anyone else run into this lately?
