Default Shroud Elite, Thursday 9pm EST

    Hello fellow warriors,

are you bored by a pit fiend whose fighting prowess does not exceed that of your summoned creature? Are you bored by people bringing wooden clubs to "beat" Harry? Look no more. On Thursday will be a great opportunity to show that you can do far more than just scraping Harry's back for some scales.

So far I have recruited 9 (including myseld and 1 might not come) warriors and I am looking for 2-4 more DPS heavy fighters/barbs/monks/paladins/rangers/rogues with no less than 450 HP and portal/harry beaters. Additionally I will take 0-1 fellow clerics on this mission.

If you are interested send me a PM (stating your equip and i'll probably buy your lie ) and I'll look you up.

    Recruited:
    Armageddonn
    Chucklucas
    Desarius
    Healmorecale/Darkenz
    Heavvy
    Hilbo
    Killerer
    Longsword
    Mayrose

    Waiting List:

    Edit: Added rogues and rangers

    Default Hmm

So my tr d Horc ranger with 505 hp 20% healing amp and a 44 walk around str and a buffable str up to 58 that dual wields either min II khopeshes or lit II khopeshes is omitted as a dps option? Only monks fighters barbs and pallies qualify for that. Ok if you say so.

FYI after playing for over a year DES you should know that a str based ranger with enough fighter levels (6) for fighter str two has the highest walk around str in the game (rams might being considered part of walk around since it last longer than most quests at this level from just being cast once).

    Enjoy your raid.

Rogues are only the highest highest dps in the game if built properly like Quicktoes built his. His rogue clears something like 60 str or some sick amount with all the gear he has. Add that to a backstabbfor some sick damage. I built one but it doesn't stack up to Quicks rogue. It does great dps but not sick dps like Quick. And you can easily get them up to the 450 hp that the op is requiring.

But hey what do I know I've only been doing elite Shroud since the cap was 16 and the only requirement from Boldrin was bring a couple of pots for the healers just in case. We didn't fail in Boldrins elite raids then and not a ton of people had 450 plus hp toons since the cap was only.

I'm not seeing many players who stand out as long time vets on that list. Might have something to so with the op obviously not knowing enough about dps that it leaves some doubt as to being able to lead an elite Shroud.

Eric, I know what you mean.

We had to do a 20th Shroud run the other night for a guildie and didn't think more than a second about it...2 healers asked if elite would be ok, answers were "whatever" and "I don't care" and enter on elite.

Shouldn't be an issue with most guilds I think, nor should a short-manned elite Shroud be for that matter.

I look at it as a direct result of folks not having to have run elite Shrouds for over a year on a level 16 Capped toon and they still have butterflies in their stomachs at the prospect.

OP - Good luck on your elite Shroud and may it lead to many more!

Good point. SierraNevada is tr d and up to level 14. I think at 16 I'm going to flag him and do an elite Shroud with all 14-16s just so the noobs can see it's not a myth.

Also I don't remember ever having to send a pm so that Boldrin could look me up on my ddo nor did he's ask for a list of gear as I recall.

Hey Eric I'm neither omitting rogues nor rangers. In my (little) experience I have unfortunately seen a disproportionate amount of players who are unable to play a decent built ranger or rogue. I have seen too many rogues hop around with little more than 300 hp (or even less) dying at first opportunity. Rangers on the other hand at least have a decent amount of hp, but usually come short in terms of dps, be it because they are building some ranged/melee mix or they have some very strange concept of ranged combat.

So this is to every Ranger or Rogue out there: My deepest apologies to every rogue and ranger wronged, I am more than happy to take you with us and have some honest fun

If you do it soon, I've got Velania at level 15 right now on a TR. I'll help heal it. I've got to get flagged, too, though.

The best fix for this is to just say your looking for str based 1 or 2 handed melee toons for dps. I do agree with you on the gimpy rangers out there, but they are the exception and not the norm by the time you hit the Vale. It just seems like the opposite because you'll always remember the gimp ones the others don't leave an impression so you forget about them.

I'm Tring Disavowed at the same time and she's only at level 6. So I might not catch up. I didn't really want to flag or run Vale that early but I wouldn't mind proving the point either.

On an elite Shroud you better know how to do your puzzle. So no need for a lock picker.

OK, so you now include rogues, rangers. what about a bard?? Guess I cant go....boo

wouldnt wanna run it anyway. all these "picky" lfm's these days make me laugh.

i'll keep my "gimped" rangers (3), rogue, and bards (3) away (all well over the hp limit and with multiple dr breakers/gs).

maybe ill join up with that "gimped" HOrc ranger Dis was talkin about and run one of my useless bards
