    Default Neverwinter E3 Trailer.

Seems like it's still on, but... is that a good thing?

    Watch Here

I'll let y'all decide for yourselves. Me, this pretty much solidifies my stance towards the game.

    Um.

As with most trailers/teasers, while that may be actual in-game footage, there is no actual gameplay shown.

I am unable to deduce any further positives or negatives about the game. I kinda get the feeling that's what DDO would look like if it was a single-player RPG, though.

The only thing I came away from that vid with, myself, was that DDO's blue dragon looks better.

I love the level of detail in the models and environment.
I am wondering if it will go straight to VIP/Premium/F2P or just standard subscription.
My demands are simple. Ducks, penguins and tortoises as pets. I'll buy hats and bow-ties for them all.

It's not an MMO - so likely none of the above.

D'oh. Silly me. I thought it was the new Neverwinter MMO that was comming out.
Well, I loved NWN1, thought 2 was not good at all (Stupid valley girl Teifling (spelling??))...
I hope they make it as loveable as the first.

I hope they being back the magic.
This is the new Neverwinter game - but it's not going to be an MMO. More like expanded co-op.

Yeah, I was neither impressed nor put off by the models.
Clearly not top-end graphics here, but nothing hideous either.

I guess the game is still in the "Wait and see, but probably sucks thanks to Atari and Cryptic" category.

Right now, DDO corners the market on live combat and (in my opinion) the best quest design. I still don't understand what people's beef is with DDO's graphics? I think it's beautiful.

This game will find it's niche (maybe) if it ever gets releases (which is looking likely based on E3 coverage) but will not break any records.

Uncanny timing, I just dug out my old copy of NWN2 and installed it earlier today. Though I had to spend a lot of time manually patching it and installing an old version of DirectX... and even then I'm still getting low fps on NWN2.

I loved the first Neverwinter Nights, but the second one lost some of its luster with being less "open" (if that's the correct word)? For example, you can't just attack attack any old NPC you see. Not that you want to, but given that it's a D&D game, the option should be readily available.

At first I was excited for the new Neverwinter Nights game when I heard about it a while back, but unfortunately I immediately lost interest once I heard that the game will be using 4th edition rules. It's just a shame that they don't make games anymore with the older rule-sets such as Baldur's Gate. While I am a 3.5 person, I enjoy AD&D just as much. It just really disgusts me how much they dumbed down 4th edition and was a horrible waste of $90 getting the three core rulebooks.

I won't be buying or playing the new Neverwinter Nights game, but I probably will take a look at some gameplay videos down the road just to see what it's like.
Have you ever wanted to create your own customized user interface skins for DDO?

Baldur's Gate, in my opnion, was much more fun to play than Neverwinter Nights 2.

DCUO has amazing combat. I'd say it's better than DDO.
But it's made by Sony... and their content is lacking. (They've had two updates since launch, when they claimed to do monthly updates. The third is coming, and I realize that couple weeks of downtime screwed them, but still.)
And the its highly likely that their PvP (which is the only PvP I've ever really enjoyed) is still highly exploitable.

Then again, even DDO isn't much of an MMO. It has a 3d lobby (public areas), and that's the only place where you can actually meet other people not in your group.

I dunno about DC online's combat Sym it still feels like the old standard MMO combat where DDO feels more ...personal... to me at least.

Still room for improvement but I like the feel of DDO combat more

I don't feel the urge to play that game after watching this trailer.

DCUO's combat is the most like DDO I've found in another MMO, but I disagree that it is better. I think it's almost on-par... but I think DDO's combat is more varied and flexible. The limited number of Powers you can use on the hotbar vs how many you actually have, and the reliance on combos, makes fighting very repetitive and frustrating after a while.

And, that game is swirling the drain... I loved the beta, and the month after launch. But, all servers have become ghost towns - worse then DDO was at it's darkest hour. I don't think their "megaserver" idea is going to save it. If they don't start pumping out some real compelling content soon - it's not going to last much longer.

I will watch some actual gameplay footage but...

    Seriously Atari?

Atari: "Oh no we're not making another D&D mmo and selling yours short..." *Shifty Eyes*

Prosecuter: "So it's a cooperative rpg then? /sarcasm"

Atari: "Why yes it actually is! /relieved"
