    Oh yeah.. I should have said the guy i know who was cured of Leukemia through adult stem cell transplants did come very very close to death through a severe graft v. host disease reaction. But, he did pull through and is on the mend. Also, I know it wasn't a perfect match to begin with.

    Ah, but wouldn't it be possible to combine this knowledge with various methods that could maybe create a new implant created from one's own stem cells? Thus, there would be little-to-no risk of rejection.

    Man, I miss the West Wing. That show had some of the most profound dialog I've ever seen on TV. It's one of the few shows that was actually about what it's ostensibly about, rather than just using its subject matter as motivation for character drama and action.
