    Default Oh look... PvP Drama...

So, I was on my 20 AA in the Lobster with an IRL friend on his lv 4 Barb and had him challenge to hit me.

A lv 12 TR'ed Barbarian I shall not name smacked him in 1 shot while my lv 4 friend did nothing to draw his/her aggro (can't say her even though it's a female toon). I take a stab at revenge and got dropped in maybe 8 hits? (For a lv 12 swinging 40's - 50's base damage HURTS)

So, I revive/ heal/ yada yada... Turn on my slayers and wait for that lv 12 to jump back in the arena. I notice he had another lv 12 barb with him and assumed it was just simple 1v1'ing. He/she jumps back in and I manyshot/ FF down pelting arrows. 1 Slayer went off killing her and a second between shots hit the friend and with 1 arrow it was a slayer, killing him.

Now I get tell's and ect. from both, I tell the first one who killed my friend that it was revenge for killing me and him. The other guy I tell him that he was in the crossfire from my target (the truth).

Why can't people just drop the fact that I got my revenge and they got killed with slayers?
    /end drama

This is Khyber. There is not even enough drama in this "PvP" thread to belong here.

    Try again.

The PVP argument will never end until there is an end to PVP.

The truth is that those of us who find no use for PvP in DDO must be ever vigilant to ensure that no time is spent balancing the game for PVP. There are many PVP game out there get your fix from them. DDO and D&D has never been about PVP its always been about PVE, a cooperative effort to balance a party and take on the environment.

Im not sure what sophomoric pleasure people take in killing another toon. This game is wide and varied enough to hold most peoples interest why they ever put PVP in I will never understand.

Too bad most of the PVP games are horrible. And the few that are decent require more grinding than playing, or get nerfed every couple weeks. About the only beef i have with DDO is that the pvp is pointless, if it could occur in the open world, and had a loss system (ala loot the corpse) it would be the perfect game in my opinion.

Nope, pvp games are what usually draws my interest. UO and Darkfall were probably my favorites, but you had to spend about 10 hours grinding for every hour you pvp'd. PotBS was supposed to be a pvp game, but no one would pvp unless their side had you outnumbered 3:1 (and even then it was rare to get a fight). Champions got boring fast when no one wanted to pvp anymore (heard it got nerfed too, quit before then tho). GW had potential, but i didnt play it long enough to join a guild. FPS's generally have an overabundance of aimbots, but i have still enjoyed them at various times.

I like pvp (almost as much as i like DnD) but there has to be an actual risk involved for me to enjoy it.
