    i agree with stille_nacht.

no you can't, and why would you want to anyways? as it stands, deepwood sniper right now is terrible. honestly, i don't think it's worth taking at all, unless you're making a repeater rogue build and want the extra SA range... even then it's pretty iffy.

Well, a soloing arcane archer/deepwoodsniper would be able to do a fair amount of arrow damage + sneak attack damage, and remain hidden for a second volly before they start at you? At level 1 DWS probably not great, but get the range doubled and you could potentially kill things before they got to you.

I had the same thought.. was more a pondering of possibilities than any real plan.

No, which in my opinion is really stupid when you can mix AA with other PrEs. Such as Kensai, Savant, etc.

You can’t mix them because both are considered Ranger PrE’s. The only thing is that you can take the elven version without actually having any ranger levels.

This. The main draw of Elves in P&P is their racial PrC’s. It seems really silly that the races are then arbitrarily removed from the PrE versions of these classes.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

I don't think it is arbitrary. If elves could be both an AA and DWS, it would be silly to play any other race for that role, especially as the two PrEs have nearly the same prerequisites. As it is, Elves have a small advantage for ranged rangers, but not so much of an advantage that it is unreasonable to play other races instead.

Right now elven AA is pretty much mandatory for any non-ranger bow build, which isn't that big an issue considering bows wouldn't really be viable for non-rangers otherwise. However, Turbine is going to have to be careful to keep racial balance when adding the other racial PrEs, and keeping the racial PrE's from stacking with the class they are most synergistic with is a sensible precaution to accomplish that goal.

So, Elves can be AA and other things as well? Such as an AA and Paladin PrE like Hunter of the dead?
Sorry, not sure how all this works.

    - Arcane Archer PrE counts as Ranger PrE;
    - class PrE are mutually exclusive; multi-classed characters can train one PrE for each class they have levels in.

Thus, an elf ranger woud be able to train only one of AA, DWS, Tempest; OTOH, an elf <insert any class but ranger> would be able to train AA (as racial PrE) and class PrE (say kensai), provided of course that all requirements are matched.

Same will apply to other races when/if other racial PrE are released (e.g. WF Juggernaut will count as Barbarian PrE, according to the info we have).

    Check DDOWiki for more info.
On Thelanis: Hallelujah (EK wraith) - Jerryrigged Juggernaut (Fiend Warlock) - Sepulchral (Druid) - Chopchopchop (Monk) - Alleyshadow (retired gimped monkcher). Formerly on Keeper : Misericordia (Thug) - Mumbo Jumbo (Battle Caster) - Infernal Can (WF Kinda Cleric) - Halleluyah (Melee Spellsinger).
