    Angry Error buying VIP subscription

    Hi all,

Im from the United Kingdom and i have treid to upgrade my F2P DDO/turbine account so that i may be a VIP member.

I have tried in vein to do this both with my debit card details and through my paypal account. Both times i get to a point and it comes up with the following:

    * The system was unable to update your billing information. Please verify your billing information and try again later. If you continue to experience this error, you may wish to try another credit card or contact your issuing bank. To request further assistance, please visit support.turbine.com. [err: 30005]
    * The system was unable to update your account at this time due to a system error; we apologize for the inconvenience. If this problem persists, or resulted in any issues in your account, please contact Turbine Customer Service. [err: -2]

I have used this card/paypal account many many times online and never had a problem untill trying to buy things through this game?

Any and all help very welcome?

Hi - I think you'll have better luck with this in the Account Support forums.

I did see this knowledge base article which talks about the specific problem you mentioned, and gives directions on how to contact Turbine Account Support if needed.

    Hope this helps!

I had trouble linking the article here for some reason, but just go to https://support.turbine.com and put err: 30005 in the search box in the upper left, click search, and its the 2nd article down.

Thanks, had a look there and all it states is about if I'm not using the correct details for the card or wrong billing address? As I said I have used card online many times so I know all details are correct?

A friend sent in a ticket about his not working either and got a response of "double check your details" which has been done and all details are deffo correct? Still no joy?

If anyone has had this problem and got it resolved pls let me know how?

I actually had this same problem late last year. I tried to use my debit card to buy Turbine Points, but it kept giving me the first error message you mentioned. It turned out that Turbine was somehow unable to verify my information, so Turbine's automated security check blocked it in case I wasn't the actual card holder.

I ended up switching to a credit card instead, and that ended up working for me.

If your debit card or PayPal are your only options, you could phone into Turbine's customer service directly and have them manually apply your payment option to your account. However, phoning from the UK could get expensive.

This thread reported a similar problem:

I'm not sure if that got resolved, though.

It appears as though PayPal can't be used for VIP, but can be used to purchase Turbine Points.

If you check the bottom of your first link its my post at the bottom already

I know paypal cant be used to buy VIP, but i use paypal to buy points only and paypal authorises it but then turbine refuse it.

As you say a phone call would probably work best, but the cost of that phone call from the UK will probably be more then the vip for 3 months!!!

As for the e-mail my account details approach i have seen? ***?? dont like the sound of using an unsecure e-mail to send bank account details? defeats the purpose of making there security better if i then have to send account details in an e-mail to work around it?????
