    Default Proxy?

    Hi everyone!

I am trying to get DDO to work with my proxies because I live in a college dorm and they have games blocked.

I've been using http-tunnel and sockscap to play Diablo 2. That's been working perfectly.

When I tried to get DDO to use the same proxies, it wouldn't work, I think it's because of the launcher-then-game setup.

I configured sockscap to be 127.0.0.1 and port 1080 and then I put these settings into DDO's proxy settings. The launcher connects just fine and installs all of the updates. However, once it launches the actual game, it gets stuck on "searching for logon server", tries 20 times, then times out.

I'm not sure what's going on here, do I have to put the proxy stuff into another settings area for the game?

Does anyone know another set of programs that may work? Thanks!

I don't know if this advice will help or not, but I believe it helped a few players work around some dorm/apartment proxy issues:

In threads dealing with proxies with DDO, I've often seen this Squidoo thing recommended:
    http://www.squidoo.com/webproxy

Hopefully that will get you up and running.

Thanks so much! I tried the first link and it didn't work... And I don't know how to set up Squidoo acutally...

I think the issue is that one of the programs I am trying to use (http-tunnel) does not support UDP...
