    Default TAMU Build

    Tank, AC, Melee, UMD

I've been playing with some ideas on how I want to TR my KotC-Tempest WF (Woodeyee). I've got a lot of gear and tomes saved up for this build, however I will still need to grind out some more gear and tomes inorder to build this toon the way I plan on bringing him up for his 3rd TR.

I plan on using this build as a Raid Tank, with enough hate and DPS to keep the aggro concentrated on me. With Stalwart Defender III and the Monk class, I will have a raid AC of 90+ while still swinging two khopesh.

I just wanted to post this build so I can get other's advice on how I could improve him, and also so I can keep a blueprint of this build while I strive to get all of the gear and tomes needed.

You must be a toon with a maroon and white coloring to use this build.

Texas A & M University, for those not from these parts, uses the above mentioned color scheme and the initials TAMU.

Well...that just craps on this entire build. Guess I'll have to do some more thinking. Thanks for the input Rusty.

I did that to account for having to switch boots during ToD.

Minor thing but, Ship Phiarlan Inspiration Bonus - last time I checked this was a luck bonus, and unless it was ninja changed very recently it won't stack with good luck.

I thought it was stacking...can someone verify?

This is what I found on DDO Wiki...

    House Phiarlan Entertainer
Grants the ability to hire on an airship a House Phiarlan Entertainer who will cast the following buff on you: Phiarlan Inspiration (+1 stacking to all skills, +1 DC on enchantments/illusions that you cast).

I havent played a monk so my questions may be easily answered. Can you stay centered with a monk when wielding khopeshes? If not centered are you still allowed to add your WIS to your AC?

In order to stay centered, you need to wield Ki weapons; if you wield non-ki weapons, WIS bonus to AC still applies, but you loose pretty much everything else (e.g. fast movement, fast unarmed combat, flurry of blows, slow fall, stances, etc.).

    DDOWiki on centered.

You're defensively centered so long as you're in composite/cloth and not using a shield. You keep the centered bonus to AC as well as the Wis bonus by the way, but lose everything else.

Nope. Docents add to your armor bonus, but are still armor in themselves.
Also, sentinel's bulwark from ship is only +1 ac.

This is my first try at an AC build so I don't really know ALL of the in's and out's.

I thought that Composite Plating grants a +2 armor bonus.

And the Dragontouched Docent gives a +5 Enhancement bonus to AC, along with a +2 inherent armor bonus from reinforced plating.

Don't these all stack? They all stack with Mithral Body, which gives a +5 armor bonus.

Also, since Composite Plating only gives a +2 armor bonus, couldn't you use a Mage Armor Pot to gain the +4 armor bonus, which will add 2 more to your overall AC?

Help me out here, cause I'm getting a little overwhelmed with this toon.

It works this way: Composite Plating, Mithral Body and Adamantine Body provide +2/5/8 armor bonuses, which are enhanced by docents; common docents provide +1-5 enhancement bonus, epic ones usually 6+. Thus, if you are wearing Composite Plating and a +2 vanilla docent, you are already getting +4 armor bonus to AC and Mage Armor is not providing any AC increase.

Reinforced Plating stacks on top of that.

AH! Now I get it! Thanks man. I'll correct my AC calculations. It will just bring my overall AC down by 2.

Check my math though...I've been making some errors here lately.

I was also thinking of a WF 18F/2M for my fighter's 2nd life. Mine differs in that I'd like to qualify for SDIII but also would like to be able to reset enhancements to Kensei and use stunning fist for epics.

Now I wonder, if we want to benefit from being centered, would we just be better off going Fleshy instead? They both get the same total from the armor and bracer slot and both have access to tactics and good HP but the base healing amp seems like it would make the dwarf easier to scroll heal.

    WF:
    2 Inherent Armor (Composite Plating)
    +6 Epic Blademark's Docent
    +2 Reinforced Plating (Docent)
+2 Dodge bracers (Bracelet of Thaarak?)

    Dwarf:
8 Armor Bracers (Epic Jidz Tet'ka for 25% amp? or epic scorched for GmotA set)
    +4 Dodge Icy Raiment

It looks like you're double counting the +2 reinforced plating on the DT docent. It's +5 enhancement and +2 Inherent for 7 total, not 7 +2. You do get a "centered" bonus just for being a monk though so you're only down 1 overall to 64.

I'm also on Sarlona and though I won't have as nice gear and ship buffs as you, I'm interested to see how this turns out.

The 7 Enhancement bonus comes from a Blue Augment Slot from an Epic Item that will increase the +5 enhancement to a +7.

I'm don't know that much about Monks...do I still get the +1 AC Centered bonus since I will be swinging 2 Khopesh?
