I would LOVE to see a certain chest in Redwillows replaced with a mimic. Then at least some of the knotheads who insist on flat-out lying about the chest would be correct.
I cant tell you how many times I have been in a run where someone has claimed:
(1) Theres a lever in the water that opens it.
(2) I opened it with my lvl 20 rogue; your O.L just isnt high enough.
(3) Disarming the trap by it locks the chest.
(4) Disarming that 'extra' box by the shrine locks it/unlocks it.
(5) Its tied to the rare at the bottom of the ramp; it only opens if you kill him.
(6) There's a monster inside it, i've seen it! <ding ding ding winner!!!> This one would finally ACTUALLY be true.
But yes I would like to see mimics in DDO (and not just in Xoriat themed quests) -- i was actually a bit surprised to find there WERENT any. Not sure if I would want them to randomly spawn in place of real chests, though. If you still got the chest (say at +1 loot lvl) then sure. But the novelty of losing a chest for an extra fight would quickly wear thin. Perhaps have the mimic show up as a trap to rogues (and ONLY rogues) and give rogues a chance to 'disarm the trap' by essentially stunning the mimic for a certain amount of time, based on your DD skill, allowing the group to loot and scoot. It would give a little love to rogues in the process, too
Note: Warded chests and chests that drop named loot should be absolutely excluded from being mimics. Chest-blessers could also 'disarm' a mimic, maybe even allow them to 'detect' it.

Random chance of a mimic for any chest would no doubt annoy me when I was farming a named item I wanted. The small chance to get what you wanted being further reduced by the chance of the chest not being real would be disheartening for me.
But on any old quest where I'm not after a named drop, I think it'd add a little spice.
This is awesome! Thanks Devs, for listening to the playerbase and adding something we really want! (I really do hope they make all chests have a % chance of being a mimic!)
Wootz. Mimics FTW! Swapping out a random breakable or two in dungeons with mimics would be fun!
Also, a mimic that spits out a xoriat facehugger type thing that curses the pc like a spectre so if they die would be super lulzy. (and by curse I mean shove its ovipositor down your throat!)
Ok, where's my Otyugh now!
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
- Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
- Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
- Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
- Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
- Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.
I think that any (non-boss/non-epic) chest shoould be able to spawn a mimic, but when the mimic dies, it is replaced by a new chest with an identical appearance that is at a +1 or +2 loot level to the "original chest"... it would be kind of like rummaging around inside the dead mimic to see what it had for its last meal.
Is Lamannia up right now for testing U10? I keep getting something about a resources couldn't be found error. :/

Pardon the slightly off-topic set of ideas, it rolls away from mimics FAST.
Stunjellies. They are PART of the wall, from AD&D. They grab you as you pass by and eat you.
To add some more electric enemies, here's one I based off a real (long-extinct) creature...
Thunder Scorpion. In DDO it would be about the size of your average Giant, with Poison and Electricity. Huge tail, hugae outer claws, inner (attackable to destroy, loss does not harm creature) claws that shoot huge bolts of lighting (think Meteor Swarm thickness, truckload of damage, let alone if it hits water... it would easily deal THOUSANDS of points of damage to those in water up to their knees or more, hundreds in ankle-depth, and it's an AoE that effects the whole body of water, and it lives in the ocean, so when ships pass by...) and are really tough to kill.
Also thought of a quest for Tiamat.
Kill the 7 Red Dragons (lists the names, all make Velah look like a Kobold child!)
(Optional) Slay Tiamat (Good luck, fools!) (350k/450k/550k HP for norm/hard/elite, all heads deal about the same as the Red Dragons from the quest, each head has breath weapon for the same amount, DC 35/40/45 and a batch of eggs behind Tiamat occasionally spawns a new dragon that's randomly determined, Tiamat can cast any spell at the caster level 35/45/55. The loot would be outrageous, assuming you survive to get it. Something like an ultimate Tower Shield and large pieces of the Staff of Many Morals which I'll outline below.)
Blue= not on the objectives screen.
Staff of Many Morals: a super-powerful staff that begins as 27 wands: Good (x3) Neutral (x6) Evil (3) Law (3) Chaos (3)
Each wand gives the alignment spell Clerics get at level 7 (4th level spell)
Combine a "legal" and "moral" wand to make the Scepters of (LG, NG, CG, LN, NN, CN, LE, NE, CE) which combines the effects of the 4th-level spells. Provides the effects like "Pure Good" which only allow characters of that elignment to wield them.
Combine scepters of the moral algnments to make the Quarterstaves of (Good, Neutrality, Evil) which combines the spells again and gives the Moral effect (Greater Stability for the Neutrality) of Holy or Unholy + Pure (alignment type).
Combine to create the ultimate weapon: the Staff of Many Morals. +5 Staff (treat as Quarterstaff with the damage of a Greataxe or so), Holy, Unholy, Anarchic, Axiomatic, Greater Stability, Absolute Good, Evil, Law, Chaos, Superior Aligning 9 (3 min 75% boost to alignment spells), Aligned, Unaligned (all negative effects don't apply and requirements are not needed, so everyone gets the effects of the Greater Stability and anyone can wield it). Maybe Metalline.
