Default dndlauncher.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    Hi guys,

I have been playing DDO seemlessly on my computer for the past two years. However, right now my launcher won't start! I am getting a "dndlauncher.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.".

I am running windows XP 2002, service pack 2.

    1) I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game three times, first with just a repair, the second with actually using the remove/reinstall feture.

    2) I don't appear to have launcher logs in my system anymore.

    3) I renamed "UserPreferences.ini" in the DDO folder to "OldUserPreferences.ini", to no avail. New userpreferences are not generated.

I'm out of ideas. Any thing I could try? I'd really like to get this fixed so I can play with my static group tomorrow.

The error gives the following summery information:

    Code:
     AppName: dndlauncher.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.0 ModName: kernel32.dll
    ModVer: 5.1.2600.3541 Offset: 00012a6b

Have you got any cookie settings blocking any part of the DL or install? Check your cookie accept/block list and remove anything that's blocked with DDO or Turbine in it. Also when you installed did you turn off all spyware or AV programs? Some have a funny way of blocking parts that the game requires.
