Hate Tank Help

I currently have a 2nd life Paladin(splash) that I wan to TR into a Hate Tank, I will end up having have 2 Paladin Past Lives. Here is a breif list of some of the notable gear I have:

Epic Sword of Shadows
MinII GS Greataxe
Encrusted Ring(+2 Exceptional Str)
Kyosho's Ring(+20% Healing Amp)
DT Vestments(+10%, +15%, +20% Incite)
Madstone Boots
Pirate Hat(+6 Seeker, +15 Intimidate)
Tharne's Goggles
Levik's Defender(and Bracers)

I also have the Parasitic Breastplate in hopes of slotting "Madness: Obession" when Update 10 hits(assuming that is in U10). (Madness: Obession = +100% Threat Guard, lasts 15 seconds)

I'm working on getting some more Epic gear before I TR. Mainly these two, possibly more.

Here's my issue: I want to build a monster DPS THF Hate Tank that will get the most benefit out of my newly acquired eSOS, while still having the HP to tank Hard/Elite ToD.

Builds I'm contemplating:

Pure Barbarian level 20
18 Barbarian/2 Fighter <--leaning tward this one(not sure when to take the fighter levels though)
Pure Fighter level 20
18 Fighter/2 Splash



Any help on build advice, or gear to shoot for would be a great help. Thanks in advance,

Just something, most Horoth tanks have some sort of 'gimick' to tank elite horoth. Some choose massive AC's, others choose massive healing amp. My advice? Don't worry so much about HP: from the looks of it, you have plenty of good gear, and if you go, let's say, 20 Horc Barb, you'll have more than enough HP, especially with the toughness feat. I'm not quite sure why you want to go 18/2 while 2HF; the haste boosts are nice, but the capstone is great for THF's.

I have 3 pieces of advice for gear; the first is to slot 10% amp on your DT armor; with all those HP, it will be very useful for being heal scrolled, which is a major part of raid healing and will increase your 'tankability' by a large stretch. Your gear+being a 20 barb should be more than enough hate, especially when you get your Claw set.

The 2nd is to create a Lightning Strike, +45 HP goggles. Tharnes will be useless while tanking, and the HP will go a long way, along with the lightning guard (which is the highest damage guard for most bosses).

The third is slightly harder, but that is to complete a 3 piece abashai set (helms/boots/envenomed cloak). The disint guard, +5 saves, +7 con, and +3 str means you will need to pick up a bloodstone, but if you have all of the gear you have right now, it shouldn't be that much of a problem.

EDIT: I know you said you want to be a hate tank, but honestly nothing but a paladin who is trying to pull aggro will steal it from a fully geared frenzied barb. Unless you get epic MC, I'd recommend sticking with the DT.

Reworking it for THF shouldn't be any problems. But with high healing amp builds you ultimately will want to dualwield epic chaos blades.

I forgot to mention that I was planning on being Half-Orc int he next life, but thanks for suggesting that.

As far as the gear goes, I have a Bloodstone on an alt that I'm not using atm that I can swap over so that's not a problem. Through some of my Forum Searching I found this: Ultimate Raid Boss Gear, and plan to aim for this gear...but that's a lot of Epic gear to make. I was thinking about making a pair of HP Goggles but wasn't sure what to make, so the Lightning Strike Guard sounds like a good one. Also planning on making a (+5 Resistance, Salt Guard, Enervation Guard) set of DT for regular questing.

I've thought about the 12 Fighter/6 Paladin/2 Rogue or Monk. We already have one in the guild and he's geared up to tank eChrono, and he can tank Suulo on Hard ToD...but we don't have anyone in my Guild to tank Horoth on Elite ToD. A few that can tank Horoth on Hard ToD, but struggle to stay alive(low amp most likely). Since we have the capability of running eChrono as a Guild I'm going to shoot for the 3 piece Abashi Set.
