I suppose by book rules I'd be a 0 lvl npc with 1-3 hps which would explain why being stabbed in the gut once or getting shot is so life threatening. Perhaps with proper training I might make lvl 1 fighter at which point I'd probably survive unless I take a critical hit. Still nowhere near Rasputin.

I include ship buff totals because, unless it's phase 5 Shroud (or a really laggy phase 2 ToD on my sorc), I always have it, but it can and does run out/get wiped by deaths at times. And yes, my sorc is squishy, but he still manages to nuke the Hades out of everything and can use Heal scrolls on himself without any issues. He'll be TR'ing shortly, however, probably to get a few Wiz lives before going back to his nuke-tastic self. Maybe as aWF. Depends on what gear I can get in the meantime.

Its not just how many, but what you do with them. I've seen too many meatbags with tons of HP that just burn thru them recklessly, while more complete characters with far fewer HP survive and thrive with ease. Huge HP buckets can become a crutch and enable sloppy play.
