If you're not going to loot it, then don't roll on it.

That would just lead to arguments over a person's right to roll. I think if an item goes up for roll anyone who wants to roll should be allowed regardless of reason. It's the simplest way of doing it.

I have no issues with guilds trying to help their guildies out. It sucks if I want something and lose the roll, but I lost the roll fairly IMO and without the drama involved with, 'that roll should not have counted blah blah blah'.

Exactly my point if an item is put up for roll anyone can roll on it they can do whatever they want with it. This has been a controversy in game since the game introduced the ability to pass loot in chests. Frankly if you dont like the mechanics then just loot everything that drops in your name and dont put anything up for roll.
