Default Greater Spell Pen or Toughness?

I have a wiz/rog (28 pt build) and I am trying to decide if I should pick up greater spell penetration or toughness as all other feat slots are taken. Should I go for the extra hp, or try and make up for the lack of the wiz capstone for spell penetration.

    Advice much appreciated

    Current feats

    mental toughness
    insightful reflexes
    maximize
    empower
    heighten
    sf enchant
    gsf ehcant
    sf conj

    planned feats

    spell penetration
    g spell penetration
    quicken

    TOUGHNESSSS

you can dropSF conj for it tho, or quicken.

also, one necro fous is much better than one conj. focus if you want that.

what is your spell pen right now anyway?

On a 28 point build, presumably not particularly well geared, I would not go without toughness. On a well geared warforged with lots of constitution, HP items and quickened reconstructs it may we worth it, but not on anything else.

    What is your race?

My race is WF and I started with 16 in constitution.

I am unsure of my spell penetration, i'm only lvl 12, and have not specced for it yet.

If you go AM, Conjuration Focus gives you the Web SLA, which you can spam heightened as much as you want! I'm not sure how useful the Necro SLA's are.

In fact, I'm currently playing a CC wizrogue with Enchantment and Conjuration and so far I like it -- but I haven't capped it yet, so...

And yes, Toughness is quite important.

Toughness is important... go for that one first....

As for Spell Penn... Are you planning on using spells with a SR or more nuker....

My Wiz/Rogue Archmagi is Necro specced and as such Spell penn is key, and to fit it in, I dropped Empower (gasp, I know, but if they are 1 click dead, I don't need the extra damage). Oh and even without empower my polar ray crits for well over 1300 against harry (solo caster)

If you plan on nuking more that I'd say SR isn't as important.

Another vote for Toughness. Oh, and you might want to swap Spell Pen for GSF Conjuration; that would let you take the Stinking Cloud SLA. Not sure how useful that one is, but I'll point it out anyway.

thing is, i can spam heightened web anyway :O, it is extremely uncommon for CCing to drain all SP, might be a consideration though.

If you are WF wiz and have good con (which you should ...) you can consider not taking Toughness - I didn't on mine from start and even when I had about 300 hp I didn't have trouble staying alive.

But, if you aren't WF, I seriously recommend you take it.

About only time , I'd say toughness and high con help a lot is for a build that can self heal though spells. Why? Because if they have a Torc and Cord Op and are able to heal a ton of hp from a single cast. More SP can be gained as your hp is lowered even more befor that point where healing becomes critically required.

Thanks for the feedback all, looks like I'll take toughness then.
