    Default Savant Respec Advice

I've been playing as a helf acid savant /w barb dilly with plans to, at some point, respec the enhancements to water and use the free Fred feat exchange to swap out to the paladin dilly once the extra HP from the class toughness became less of an incentive and saves became more important. Divine wand usage is also nice.

Right now, I'm at level 7. It's the most fun I've ever had with a character, but I'm not sure when to do the swaps.

As far as switching the savant enhancements, my thoughts run:

Level 8 - Pick up ice storm for an AoE, with acid blast still retaining a good bit of power. Also, another point of Charisma adds to the DC on Niac's.

Level 12 - Water II, more spells in general.

Level 18 - Retain the AoE benefits of Acid longer, switch with high-powered Ice spells available.

Don't Do It - Keep Ice as a secondary proficiency, live by 260pt stoneskins and free max-emp acid blasts. See if the devs add more high-level acid spells - I think that was mentioned in one of the spell pass discussions, that new electric and acid high-level elemental damage spells were in the works.

As far as the feat swap, I'm thinking that the 10 extra hit points are becoming irrelevant quickly, but that a bonus to saves and having divine wand usage available would be nice. I'm seeing more failed saves in at-level or above-level content than previously, and a bonus +2 or +3 might not make a huge difference, but would add more survivability than 10hp.

Thanks for any tips in advance.

earth savant has it's uses, water is much stronger DPS though.

earth is a little bit more CC-oriented than the others, with earthgrab (which is awesome) and really good spell pen on flesh to stone. also synergizes well with spell focus: conjuration to boost your webs...

water savant is also very nice. the SLAs may not always be the greatest, but they are still pretty solid. and the DPS is second to none, though it is not very far off what an air savant does if the air savant has really high save DCs.

water savant= max single target dps with good multitarget dps
air savant= more AOE dps, better SLA (bit more mana in this way), good single target dps, wings!

those are usually the two main contenders in the savant choices, though others are also cool.
remember, you can still take the enhancements for lightning as water or ice as air, and you want to do that.

also, for dilles, i strongly suggest cleric, healsrolls= cool

Earth is...meh....compared to water or air. Air is amazing for groups of mobs with electric loop stunning and chain lightning and lightning bolt.

So water is higest single target DPS while air is better with groups of mobs with group DPS/utility.

Based on my own experiences, and many others who are testing sorcs, either go water with minor in electric or air with a minor in ice.

Thanks for the tips. I respec'd to Air with an Ice minor, and picked up the Paladin dille. Main thing I like so far is that electric loop can hit mobs behind me, so long as the primary target is in front. Kinda neat to watch.
