    Default Server Lag

Is there a server that is known (KNOWN) to have less lag than the others. I have been playing Sarlona for the most part, but it seems to be getting laggier than usual lately. This wouldn't be a problem for me under normal circumstances, except for the fact that it's been happening more and more when I'm in the middle of adventures. I'm neither hard to please, nor easily offended. People generally know it's getting bad when I complain. Anyway, as the general concensus goes, is there one that is smoother than the others?

The more populated servers tend to have a bit more lag. The newer servers (like Orien) have newer hardware that could reduce lag, if I remember correctly. I've been seeing lag reports from various servers over the past month, so they might actually all be about the same. There have been quite a few reports across the servers about really laggy 12-player raids, so there definitely seems to be some server-side issues of some sort.

To combat lag from causes on my end, I always defrag after each patch and also check for driver updates each month. I also cycle the power on my cable modem and router every couple of weeks. I don't know if any of this will specifically help you, but it sure can't hurt. This thread has a bunch more tips in it, if you're interested:

I would wait until the server lag is fixed before moving.

The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.
