    Default Rogonk?

    Hey Everyone!

    I need some help.

I had this idea pop into my head today... a character with improved evasion, touch of death, trap skills and lots of sneak attack damage. It sounded cool, so I searched the forum and what do you know? You guys are way ahead of me. I see a lot of different builds.

I think I am leaning towards a 13monk/7rogue build, but I didn't find exactly what I wanted and that is where your vast experience comes in.

I am pretty sure I want these things in the build
    - Improved Evasion
    - Touch of Death
    - Full rogue skills (Search, DD, Spot and OL)

I am pretty sure I want to punch things, so I am not really interested in any quarterstaff builds, but I am intrigued by the whirling steel strike feat. My thoughts are this... people always complain that monks don't get greensteel wraps, but you could dual wield greensteel longswords... just thinking out loud. Not sure how that would work. Has anyone tried this?

    Also thinking...
    - Dark monk
    - Ninja Spy II
    - Assassin I

Thinking of going Dwarf with starting stats of... STR 16, DEX 16, CON 16, INT 10, WIS 12, CHA 6. All level ups into STR.

But also considering Half-Orc and maybe Human.

Ideas? thoughts? Someone got a build like this already?

    Thanks for the help guys.

10 Int will make it challenging to keep FULL Rogue skills of DD, Search, OL, Spot. You will also want to keep Concentraion maxxed too for Monk Ki yes?

Makes 6 skill points/lvl when you take Rogue Lvl (10 Int nets 8 skill points, no problem there)

Makes 7 skill points/lvl when you take Monk Lvl (10 Int nest 4 skill points, quite the shortage)

Assumptions: Spot/Search are not cross classed. Concentration, DD, OL, are cross classed.

Handwraps are better DPS than longswords (or short swords) with so many monk lvls, esp. if you're going dark path, because ToD is fists-only. If you really want to use blades, as a monk 12+ Ninja Spy, you'll be able to use short swords while staying centered and get Imp Crit free to boot; why waste two feats to get WSS?

Do you have a +2 DEX tome? If so, the usual advice for TWF builds is start DEX 15 and use a +2 tome to meet the DEX pre-req for ITWF & GTWF.

Monk 13 has very little to offer; so does rogue 8, unless you really need the skill pts or want Imp Uncanny Dodge. Consider a ftr splash instead for 1 more feat and a few more HPs.

Monk 13 gives Spell Resistance 23, which I think is pretty useful when you're solo. Fighter 1 gives you a feat, but Ranger 1 gives you sprint boost and heal wands, which I think is a better trade. In any case, I really like this kind of split post-U9, so many good options...
