Default Which feats does one get?

This is based on a single TR'd Human palemaster wizard.

    Starting stats will be
    16 con
    18 int
    15 str
    rest left alone

    SF/GSF Necro
    Heighten
    Maximize
    Empower
    toughness
    wizard past life
    Spell pen
    mental toughness

that makes 9 feats with 4 more left to choose from. Here are the ones I would like to have but would like opinions on which ones I need to have or can live without. I will put my thoughts with them.
Extend-Helps with death aura, haste, rage, fire shield, not much else
Quicken-Seems to only be used when kiting shadows in ToD
Improved mental toughness- extra 105? sp
Greater Spell Penetration-Wizard past life seems to cover that
Spell Focus and Greater Spell Focus Enchantment-This always seems to be on everyone. Is it needed? wanted?

I only can have 4 of those 6 obviously. Which ones do I take though?

I've been wondering the same thing so hopefully I'll get an answer as well.

I would probably go with Extend, SF: Enchantment, and GSF: Enchantment, and GSP. With U9 epic mobs got their saves increased and now with no auto crits it may seem not as useful, but I still definitely think it is.

If you're careful and efficient with your spell points, improved mental toughness shouldn't be needed. I'm not saying it isn't useful, but you can probably find a better feat.

Extend also helps with the buffs.

Dont take Imp mental toughness unless you really have nothing else. I would take regular toughness a second time first.

SF/GSF enchantment gives you higher DC's with many of your CC spells. Its usually a decent idea to have two spell focuses, to give you a backup plan/role, but it dosent have to be enchantment. Evocation for many damage spells (fireball) and conjuration for some damage/debuff spells (like acid fog) are popular. So is transmutation for a bump in Flesh to Stone DC. You can checkout the spells in the different schools here:

The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

Insightful Reflexes is very useful at endgame.

Prior to having it, 2 eChrono abashai DBFs would usually kill me when scrollfarming. Now, I usually survive 3 of them. That is a lot more time to throw a NEB to heal yourself.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

I have extend, I hate having to recast haste every 2 minutes, and failing that for the double duration of the aura alone its worth it. Then I took insightful reflexes, I have Skill focus UMD to give me a 39 for no fail heal scrolls( for others, and the times when being in Lich form is not a good idea) raise scrolls, etc and quicken for those times when you need it, such as kiting in TOD

my understanding is extend works on buffs and since u9; only works on non-combat spells. so should rage and haste be in your list or am i confused?

    thanks

    Pretty much this.
    Tip# 203: Death is a traumatic experience.
