    Default Fast TR monk build

    This will be mine fifth life and mine aim is to get 20 asap for monk passive past life feat therefore mine main focus is DPS.

    Should i stay pure, go with bottom 12/8 split or is there some other viable monk split i should look into?

    edit - sorry, i thought you were talking about 12 fighter/ 8 monk XD - I have seen others using 12 monk/8 fighter and they like it just as much though. im interested in the dps difference between the 2, but am unaware of the actual difference

    Hey Gavi, this is Steamm over on Orien.

    My first life was pure dark monk aiming for pure DPS, I TR'd him into the 12/8 build and the DPS is amazing. On top of that the Stunning DCs get a huge boost from Kensai II.

    Doing Shades DPS challenge I took out the Reavers Refuge portal in ~58 seconds with +4 holy handwraps of greater construct bane(no tod rings or haste or rage. only madstone rage to count the time)

    Im on his 3rd life right now, keeping with the same 12 fighter / 8 monk build but going with half orc instead of warforged for the extra str.

    Fighter Haste Boost IV + Monk attack speed = amazing dps

    Yours seems very nice. If you take 10 fighter Levels you'd free the Fighter strength 3 enhancement what would get you to a 30 base strength. ALthough you'd loose the fire stance enhancement that gives you the +3 strength.

    The 11th fighter level really does nothing, thinking of switching it to a lv of ranger for better saves & favored enemy... haven't figured it out yet

    Must tell you though I did get a lot of negative comments on this build, but seriously, it roxx !

    Default Good luck getting a straight answer

    I have asked about speed TRing before and been met with a lot of confusion on the fellow poster's part. From a DPS standpoint, the build looks solid. I would probably stick with the 12/8 split and if you can get a +1 tome, why not a +2?
    On my server I find it hard to get pugs that I am confident in so a lot of soloing is usually involved with leveling for me(could also be due to my casual play). If this is not an issue for you, roll right on. Personally, I find versatility key to soloing at mid levels so I might would consider ranger(free feats/more skill points and spells/tempest I). I personally think a half-elf wiz dill(self buffs) monk12/ranger6/fighter2 build would get to 20 very easily. I might also drop the strength from 18(as a HE), lose one point of dex and work on the will save a little.
