    Default Meta-Magics Spell Specific

    I was thinking a great idea to add to the game would be able to flag or hotkey spells to always function with the right meta-magics unless set otherwise.

    Examples.

    -My Cleric almost never wants quickened buffs, but quickened heals are a must.

    -My Caster always wants max/emp firewalls But would prefere greater shout to just always be cast normal.

    Now, i understand the nay-sayers will say "just click your hotbar and quit being lazy". My counter argument is simply... "Now thats not a very progressive way to look at our gameplay now is it? Let alone life ".

    What Does everyone think?

    As our current spell list shows all available metamagics per spell. I would imagine it would be possible to click a highlighted region in the spell description to read green, red, or gray.

    Green being always on, Red being always off, and leaving it gray would defer to your current meta-magic hotbar reading.

    I really think this is a solid idea, it would help alot with buffing for sure.

    No one has any pro's or cons to this? I personally would love to see it implemented.

    Not the first time it's been suggested. Devs said that they wanted to get something like that into the spell pass, but didn't have time.


    SO, maybe update 10 or 11?

    I would settle if we could just assign a bar a meta on-off flags not even per spell but bar.

    hmm, a couple o' thoughts...One, on the count that you would figure to empower and max a spell or heighten and extend, the sorc/wiz/cleric/fvs would have to put more energy into castin it, it should take a bit longer to do.

    As it is right now, jus leavin it doesn't actually take the spell longer to cast, so to jus be able to set spells for it vice o'ers, would mean yer not really setting up fer yer entire body to cast everythin at max/emp/height/etc.

    Now, on the opposite thought o' that one, since it dinna take extra time to cast any o' those meta's, then there should be no thought in separatin out spells to jus cast at one set o' meta's vice the o'er spells. it also works in the thought that when ye memorized the spell, ye did so at the max/emp/etc power lvl, and o'er spells ye mem'd with diff meta's or none at all.

    either or, the 2nd thought sounds more to the way the meta's are workin in DDO, we jus now need to set it so.
