Brain dead hireling...

I ran Taming the Flames on hard for favor today and I very quickly realized that my level 12 cleric hireling did not have resist fire active.

How does this make any sense at all? He's level 12 and resist energy is one of the most basic "never ever leave home without it" kind of spells. I understand that hireling AI is limited, but I think it makes a great deal of sense for hirelings who have the ability to cast resist energy to actually use it on themselves.

I eventually just finished the quest with the hirelings stone in my pack because I got sick of running him back to the shrine over and over.

So why didn't you cast resist energy on him?

Poor guy, he was counting on you! I bet when you were toting around his stone he was saying "braindead people who hire me........not buffing me ...."
