U9 Epic caster melle FVS

first a rant; So I have this Melle WF FVS and it is great for soloing stuff. It was a heal bot last life so when I group that's my primary concern. Lately Ive seen a bazillion melle FVS's pop up who just let the party die. Its not just noobs either, many 'vets' who play them feel so invincible they forget there in a group. Basically if you want self healing gimp DPS play a pally not a fvs. /rant

That said with the new changes to epics melle/caster FVS is now viable.
Wis based/Melle = Horc, max wis+ levels, 16 con 18 str,
so geared will be easy 40wis, 35 base DC
implosion is evocation
destruction is necro

must have feats, heighten, maximize, quicken, toughness, wiz past life.
only leaving room for 2 more, if melle they would be falchion and im proved crit, though you could stick to a min2 and drop improved crit, leaving room for necro focus.

with epic spectacles of spirit sight you destruction would be 39 fort save, or push it to 40 without a sword.
evocation is a little hard requiring 3 sorc past lifes for 38dc and fitting in an item for 40, blackscale? yuck, epic shamans beads? my torc!

all this could be cured with a few hand held items but it defeats the dream of melle caster.

then spell selection is a nightmare, you'll want energy drain for guaranteed destructs so true res is out which means you need normal res, along with destruct and prot this means cure serious mass is out, no more solo healing edq2?

you might think why not go cleric? wings.

anyway this has given me an excuse to try the new sorc while not changing my wiz maybe ill do that.

I know fvs are gimp dps and gimp casters but it gives you something to do while healing, thats what there really for. If a pally can heal a 6 man party a FVS has no excuse, **** im ranting again.

Ahh ****, I've been playing all of my Favored Souls wrong...I didn't realize I'm just there for healing.

Sorry to all the groups I've both healed and meleed/and or casted in...I'll do better in the future to just be a healbot.
