    Yeah that one's funny.

I think what they mean to say it "keep your back to the wall at all times, so when he blasts you, you will bounce against the wall instead of flying off." But it seems that in Noobish that comes out as "Take off your FF item"...
Speaking of that, who sacrifices a permanent slot to an FF item anyway?

if your old like me and from the uk you might remember a game called jet set willy (zx spectrum) where someone stated in one the the game magazines that if you wait until a specific time then a little boat appears to take you to a new room!!!

Trouble is if i remember you had to leave your computer on for like 12 hrs to get the time to show on the game clock and guess what? nada... Should have seen the letters sent to that magazine the following month....

ahhh the days before forums and internet when you had to use snail mail to express your opinions

Devs take note you could capitalise on this and tell everyone to be at the harbour at a certain time and the little boat that used to take you to kobold island would come to pick you up to take you there....

I miss that place... i used to chill out there and practise my spells n stuff in relative peace..... please bring it back

I think that one was true (but no longer). At least so far as don't open because it would cause the others to not appear.
Only GMs, gems, and a dragon mark can effect loot.

I hear don't open the chests every time I run Chrono. Could be a server thing, I always thought people originally were worried because the two optional chests appear after the first one. Makes sense that it was originally a bug that has long since been fixed.

You don't get better loot from casting Bless on the chest or Prayer or Diplo.

But you do get better loot by casting a DDoor on top of the chest. This has been confirmed by a dev. Or by my neighbor Larry. I forget which.

Very true. In many raids casting DDoor on the raid chest makes your loot roll competition mysteriously leave the raid, thus increasing your own chances.
Raid loot holder: "Bob won the roll with 99."
You: "Yeah but he's already left the raid. And so did the next highest roller, Jim, and Sue, and LegoLOLazZ as well. Ah well. I guess that makes me win with my roll of 12."

And remember, the angry buzz you'll hear in party chat from those who volontarily left is just because they're angry with themselves, and are blaming you for their faulty decision!

.... reminds me of the time i miss-clicked the wrong dragonmark (DD instead of exped retreat - not my fault the icon looks almost the same!!!) infront of the one of the portals in the shroud... then watching the grps main tank disappear in mid swing.... he was a guildy so he did forgive me....... eventually

No need to yell. I asked in the hope that somebody would give me an explanation as to the origin of the legend. CThru did just that, stating that there once was a bug from Nantucket in the optional chests and ducats.

It's not surprising that this bug got morphed into a loot boost myth, but that's probably the case.

Real answer is: So when the argument starts in group chat I can contribute something like an explanation rather than just take a side in the does/does not. Now I can even reference this thread.

I had the leader of a Shroud say that you can use a bluff skill on a chest to increase the loot, but if you fail the check, you get worse loot. of course, they had no idea of the needed bluff skill, and I made my 'bluff check' and blew them off.

Only thing I thought to help boost was mark of finding 3 going off.

For the three chests, it is nice to know they appear if you complete then do optionals. Usually though, it is fine to do the optionals first. I thought the issue was if you complete all optionals, but open one of the chests before the others appear, they wouldn't appear.

    /shrug either way.

    ?
Last few times I pugged it with noobs, which has been quite some time, it was "Feather Fall makes you have more aggro, so take it off so only the designated person will have aggro." Or something along those lines.

I hear about this but wonder how it even happens. Are you pressing the "Use" button to attack the portal with your mouse right over it, or something?
