Yet another myddo rant

Dear Raid leader!
When looking for a DPS please do not turn down the fighter with mid 500s hp, dr breaker, curse pots, heavy fort, full set of ship buffs because you do not allow members of a particular guild into your group on principle because "we all know ppl in that guild never carry dr breakers, lack heavy fort, and dumped con". If you took the effort to my ddo the guild please look at the fortification, hp and weapon equipped. Or i will be forced to impose my awesome gimped down little rogue on you

As part of the experiment i unequipped all the hp items, dr breakers, fortification item, etc etc on my rogue and still managed to get into groups that turned down the other toon

They're probably not MyDDO'ing the char, just doing a quick /who to see the guild name. Proper screening is an "interview" anyway.

Just hit accept when you put up a lfm. I mean really.....unless we are talking about an elite ToD or something. If we can't do raids with a gimp toon here or there, then you aren't as uber as you thought you were. I mean my guild has to carry my butt all the time....they complete things just fine!

I have been very vocal about people that use myddo to screen for groups here on the forums. That said, if your guilds behavior is keeping you from getting into groups, maybe its time to find another guild.

I don't know who this quick guy is but I find myself agreeing with him quite often. I rarely personally screen anyone and by rarely I mean never. Hell, I even let Hex in an abbot run the other night on Omber's suggestion so obviously I don't care

Having said that, there's a saying to the effect of 'Your friends speak volumes about you'. If your guild is quite strong in the moron dept. then don't be surprised when those that DO screen via guild, auto-assume you're a moron as well. If this is the case then maybe it really is time to find another guild.

It doesnt sound like they used myddo, rather they saw your guild tag and auto declined based on past experiences, as if they had my ddo'd your toon they would have seen the gear you stated you had on (give or take a hotswap item or so).

There is a saying If you play around with pigs, sooner or later you are going to wind up covered in mud, and similarly If you lay down with dogs, you will get up covered in fleas.

If you are having these problems based on your guild, then I would take a hard look in this area, and strongly consider finding another guild. Unfortunately there are several high ranking guilds who mass recruit and do not help/teach their guild members and are full of people who are going to be resource drains in quests/raids. When you are the raid leader and 5 unknown people hit your lfm...who are you going to choose? One from the guild you've had alot of problems with or the ones from guilds you usually have smooth runs with?

I love myDDO. However, about 90% of the time that I choose to myDDO someone I'll be confirm the suspicions that I have about them regarding HP (<300 hp at level 20 is not acceptable), fortification (<100% fort at level 20 is unacceptable) or some other attribute.

I've got a pretty good sense about who needs a second look and who doesn't ...

I don't screen by guild, I don't know or care enough about other guilds to.

Sorcerer joined for Enter the Kobold ... died on trip up Mount Reysalon. myDDO revealed 97 HP. 97! I lead them to some more mobs (after I raised and invis'd before myDDO'ing) and like clockwork they aggroed the mobs (not having healed at all) and promptly died. I left them there and continued on invis'd ...

awesome.love it. i once lead a mission in burning city.i hate to lead and i hate burning city.so i have this moron in group who wants to zerg and wont listen to me the party leader.after a few warnings i picked up his stone and tossed it into the lava back when there was no way out.it was a good laugh when he constantly asked where he was and how to get out. when he released and got the boot more laughter ensued.i didnt want to do that quest and he made it suck even worse but he was at least good for a laugh.

as for myddo to screen it can be deceptive so i tend to go by whether i know the person or the guild
