The op said he was disallowed from joining a raid because of his guild. He even showed the leader that he had what was expected but was still denied. Sure, he may be in a crappy guild. But does that mean he shouldn't be allowed to prove himself a rose among thorns?

The only proving he should be doing is that he found a different guild if he's having those issues .

Sorcerer joined for Enter the Kobold ... died on trip up Mount Reysalon. myDDO revealed 97 HP. 97! I lead them to some more mobs (after I raised and invis'd before myDDO'ing) and like clockwork they aggroed the mobs (not having healed at all) and promptly died. I left them there and continued on invis'd ...

As I'm in a one man guild I guess I've never had the guild issue. I've have rarely heard people refusing others because of their guild over the chat, but that has always been filling a spot in an mostly all guild group so there may be some odd politics going on.

When I ran in my first shroud the leader asked if I had a DR breaker and I said like, 'ah, a what?'. Then he just said, 'oh, Paladin, you've got that holy sword thing, no problems'. I died in part 4, we finished and no one hassled me about the death (didn't know then that heavy fort and 400 hp was kind of minimal for that raid).

In my early days I found people were mostly helpful and gave good advice. I've never had anyone ask me to link an item to be allowed to join.

I have found people appreciate it if you say you've not done the quest before (and I avoid LFM's with 'know it' in the comment, even if I do know it).

I have joined groups where there was an expectation that my build was standard e.g. max wisdom / heal cleric when I had a strength battle cleric (OK, gimped battle cleric) and I've voluntarily dropped group when I've discovered I didn't fit the role they wanted. That seemed reasonable enough to me.

I'll be completely honest in my opinion of MyDDO. In reference to letting people in my groups there is only 1 thing I look for in MyDDO, HP count. Generally I am the healer/caster or spell based class of some kind. I look at said MyDDO screening for HP, if they are level 15-20 with 100 HP you aren't getting in my group, I dont care how uber you think your dps is. You can't do dps as a soul stone that I throw in the lava. However, that is the only reason I look. Even then, 90% of the time I could care less about even looking, its a game. Who cares if my char. is 100x better than yours and vise versa. If you want to go play those kinds of games go to the restroom and pull on your... nose... anyways... All things like heavy fort can be substetuted depending on class, I dont know what gear you have switched out, or how bad of a Pale Master you are, which leads me back to caring less... if it bothered me so much to MyDDO every single pug I let into a group then I would just go solo everything. Until you get to Raids/Epics (even some epics you can solo) everything in the game can be solo'd. Yes even amrath quests depending on class. I do not because whats the fun in playing with yourself... no pun intended... it sucks being alone which is why groups are formed.

The point is MyDDO is a tool that lies a lot. I trust the attributes it shows, (a 8 con is not ok). Other than that just enjoy and laugh at them when they die.

This is a guild blacklist complaint and not a MyDDO one.

As the OP does not list their guild we can only speculate if this was some random guy who had one bad experience with his guild and it is a guild known in game as being full of competent players or if this is one of a handful of guilds that have truly horrible reputations on the server. If it is the former then the OP should shrug it off and move on. If it is the latter then the OP complaining on the forums will do no good as people will continue to decline toons of his due to his guild tag and the only way to change that is to change their guild tag (or singlehandedly restore their guild's name from the gutter).

I have a gimped toon or 2 from way back when that I have been bumping around on to get to cap so I can TR them. Can they do "whatever" job is asked of them, yes. Will they be the "best" at it, probably not.

If I hit your LFM and you decline me, thats totally your perogative. If I put up the exact same LFM, fill and complete quicker than you.....then you will understand why myDDO blows dog for things like this.

I pug a lot, just because I like the flavor of seeing new builds or running with new people. I don't throw up LFMs much because of my playtimes coincide with 2 young sleeping children in rooms which adjoin my Computer Room at home. Makes it hard to use VC.....I really don't want to deal with waking them up.

/back on topic......if people don't know, just ask. If you can't answer correctly or honestly, then don't try to perpatrate the fraud. Look, Learn, Listen and emulate the performance of others that "can" do it the right way. In no time flat, it will become 2nd nature to you.

fwiw....there are a very small, but noticable handful of Guilds on Sarlona that are nothing but jackwagons. I know it, you know it, they know it. The worst part about it is, they really don't seem to care.

You probably didnt want to be on that run anyhow if this is how people are screening to get into their group.

I think that is a big thing to think about. People tend to feel their requirements are the only requirements for completion. To that I say WINNING!

*giggles* guess that depends on what you consider comic Dunno a guildie of mine and I joined a shroud once and were on good behavior and one of the people in the group squelched us within 5 minutes, didn't leave group, but it made us laugh (I mean BEST BEHAVIOR sheesh...) because what we were talking about really wasn't that bad (for Harpers ). I think some people are just far too sensitive sometimes.
