    Correct.

The TWF nerf had lag reduction listed as a reason for it being implemented, but testing demonstrated it was ineffectual. The devs added the above in response to an industrous bunch of players spending some of their time figuring out what was behind the dps lag. Testing after the server settings were adjusted demonstrated that the server setting change was effective in dramatically reducing dps lag.

    Moral of the story is...

Lag should not be addressed by altering how the game plays. It should be addressed by efficiency gains in software and upgrades in hardware.

I only started noticing it again after update 9.

this is like the old mod8 shroud DPS lag...

The mobs don't get lag when they play, so why should we get lag?

For me it's only unplayable in ADQ/DQ (epic and non-epic alike)

I have experienced more lag since Update 9, and especially since 9.1.

This. We never had "DPS-lag" on the EU servers, but our bit limit was 30 000. Turbine decided to increase theirs to 20 000 - voila - DPS lag went away.

(The TWF nerf was just that - a nerf - they didn't like the dominance of TWF. And the change to make range detection copy from main-hand to off-hand could had been done without decreasing the number of attacks.)

On that note, has anyone checked the bit rate limit since 9.1? Maybe they lost their server settings in their interupted 9.1 upgrade and their back-up of the settings was from before Update 5. Maybe it's back to 10 000 bits.

Last night on Khyber. Running a full VoD pug. Lagtastical beyond belief. Since I live in Kansas, I doubt the other 11 were from the same area as me.

When one person in a group has really bad lag on their side (i.e. not on the server side), it has a negative impact on the lag experienced by the rest of the party. I have directly experienced this in quests and raids when one person with a bad connection joins the group and enters the area and suddenly the entire party is struck with astounding amounts of lag. When that person recalls and drops group, the lag vanishes.

There are ABSOLUTELY serious lag problems on the server side. That does not mean that client side problems don't also contribute significantly to the lag that we experience in DDO.

I just need to know how many pots I have to drink and how many heals I have to cast before the spell I want registers.

The scary thing about this all is everyone in the party can see the circle of a mass heal drop, they can see the animation of a curse pot being gulped, but nothing happens....

    Orien,

Ever since started this game I've been hitching/rubberbanding.
I'd like to know if this is a connection issue, GFX setting issue or a server issue.

I know in Lotro it was bad, then to a minimum. (not sure if the improvement came from my tweaking around though)

Lag will never be fixed as it gives them an excuse for further nerfs.

DoT's spells are overpowered? Nerf it and call it a lag fix.

Insta Kill spells are overpowered. Nerf it and call it a lag fix.

AoE spells are overpowered. nerf it and call it a lag fix.

Epic sets are making melees overpowered. Nerf it and call it a lag fix.

Lag is here to stay, we just have to deal with it.
