    Default encumbrance guide on inventory

think it would be a good addition on the inventory panel, to put a green/orange/red bar background behind your current carrying limit so you can see how close you are to becoming encumbered.

Saying Light Medium Heavy isn't clear enough?

Asking this is like asking whether 2d6 is clear enough.

Um, there already is a bar. It's solid grey, but it's there.

Heh, I have occasionally had encumbrance problems on my Halflings, I suppose some casters may as well.

Might be simpler to just make the bagged collectables/ingredients go to zero weight. Those bags have just got to be magical right?

your missing the point, it 'saying' light medium and heavy doesnt tell you when you are near it changing, it just tells you when you are already there. Having a colour bar behind the grey bar can show you where you are curretly at, and how much further you have to go until you reach medium & overloaded, where currently you have to either guess or work it out maths wise which involves knowing how the system works.

    Something simple like:

It should be extremely trivial to implement; simply mark the breakpoints for medium/heavy for each strength tier.

This would give us a visual indicator of whether or not we are reaching medium/heavy.

BYOH. Know it, abide by it, or don't mess with those who do.

Ooooh, I didn't realize that's what you meant. On one hand, it's pretty insignificant, on the other hand, how hard can it be to implement? Sure, /signed.

Easy enough that it can be done by anyone via a UI Skin. Just updated my Info Blue skin with this:

If you only want that part of the skin, copy just the "encombrance*.tga" files from my skin into your favorite skin, replacing the files in that skin. (This only works if the other skin includes those files and names them the standard names, otherwise you have to do some text editing in the SkinDefinition.xml.)

Just uploaded the new "Info Blue 1.5b.zip", make sure you get that version once it is available on the site.
Author of Info Blue UI Skin (Really wish Turbine would update the skinning interface and enable all the new UI parts.)
If you don't have an SSD, you should be using DDOPreload (fixes the slow first login issue)

Ah thanks, I didn't realise the breakpoints was static, as I thought it scaled with the strength. In this case it can be solved on the user side by simply reskinning the UI
