    Default Build Request: Build me a favor farmer.

    I have hit a wall for my mains in that I don't have the packs available to level up to high level.

    What I need therefore is a character that can speedrun 100 favor independently as fast as possible, preferably with no resources lent from other characters. The appropriate parameters for these builds would be 28 pt, only f2p races and classes with the exception of Drow, start at level 1.

    Thanks in advance for anyone who helps.

    Only went up to lvl 6, but you'd have 100 favor by then...I'd take a sword and board idea and just hack at everything. Maxing concentration and splitting points between jump and balance. This is the dude I use to farm my favor and he holds up fine.

    Robi3.0 suggested this build awhile back. It still works pretty well.

    What? random wizard level? yes, a wizard level.

    You want the best greataxe (probably just one from korthos) you get, sprint boost through things, if things get messy, damage reduction boost will take the edge off most attacks.
    The wizard level+ extend are specifically for some of the spells.
    You should be able to get a respectable level 3 AC with shield and normal armor, while detect secret doors, jump, and feather fall will be nice utility spells. Shield also protects you from magic missiles.
    Even without a hireling, this should be sturdy enough for most early quests, with one, they wont be much a problem. You should get to 100 favor before level 4

    Human barbarian 1/bard x. Give him a good strength and con and pick up a two handed weapon and swing away (don't max out charisma, in fact 12 charisma is fine for this character). Barb gives him 10% movement boost and with bard you get expeditious retreat, so you'll move fast. With your bard song you will doing good damage as well. Only downside is traps may be a problem. If you keep playing him past the favor you can make him a warchanter though.

    The most survivable character I've had at lower levels was a drow twf rogue 2/paladin x. Amazing saves, spell resistance and evasion, and lay on hands will save you countless times. No speed boosts and it takes til level 4 till it all synergizes, but definitely a very strong character.

    How far are you from getting 1000 favor? It will be much easier to do these runs if you get veteran status and thus start out at 4th level.

    This is what I would do. Fast running. Turn undead that should hit OK. Buff. Rage. Heal. Repeat. HV to keep PA going. DR boost for when you're getting ganged up on.

    i run a dedicated favor farming guild "favor runners" its on all severs but i mainly run in thelanis

    We all tend to get/buy vet status first to speed things up
    the-main problem with fav farming inst time to complete a quest but time spent running between, so ALL our runners are true runners
    By true runner i mean max speed for lvl 4 Barbarian with sprint boost and angers step for 2x exp retreat clicky, so take barbarian gear from vet ship we dont equip chars further than that.

    PURE MELEE (xReplayx build)
    H-orc Barb2/Ftr2
    18 STR, 18 DEX, 14 CON
    feats - Stunning blow, 2-handed fighting, Power attack, toughness,
    highlights: 103 hp, great to-hit and damage (even in korthos elite mobs CAN be missed), uncanny dodge, rage
    Action pts: take ftr haste boost and barb sprint boost ftr and racial toughness, ftr and racial STR, orc fury, orc melee damage, ftr tactics stunning blow

    RHYTHM SECTION
    H-orc Barb2 Ftr1 Bard1
    similar load out but adds inspire courage to keep you in line with the pure melee

    NIFTY MELEE (xReplayx build)
    H-Orc Ftr2 Barb1 Wiz1
    this adds shield and exp retreat as spells

    EDIT:
    You should build for where you intend to run:
    Our normal path is all Korthos (except miseries peak cause its too slow), then Info is key, Bringing the light, Haverdasher, Durks secret, and finally a solo run of millers debt for 101 favor - collect rewards and chests cause Ioun stones drop in these low quests (pulled 2 crappy Dark blues in 10 runs) takes 25-40 mins depending on pugs, or about 30-35 mins solo
    AVG mission complete time is 1 1/2 min x13 missions

    It depends slighty of your aproach.
    Here is one wich do not care about party, the only thing you need is cleric hire.

    However if you prefer aproach of join whatever is elite, the cleric 3 could be great.

    Ok here one of the try:

    If from some reasons Barbarians annoys You (not everyone like the rage thing) going with 1Rog/Fig2 or 1Rog/Pal2, actually even 1Rog/Bard2 could be good warrior. Here is Pal version, which is less effective then above but more fun:

    Thank you all for the help. I will try some of these builds and see how well they work.

    Regrettably, my bard on Ghallanda is 234 favor away from 1000 favor. I'm afraid I don't have enough adventure packs to bridge the gap to that point without some difficulty, however I am very close to getting VoN. If there are other packs you'd recommend instead (I'm looking more for mid- to end-game leveling at the moment) I am listening.

    Otherwise, I will start off with the sword and board (or as it will probably end up being as clerics lack martial proficiency: mace and board) cleric idea. Any future posters are still welcome to contribute ideas. Thanks all.

    I've found that if you run all of Korthos on elite (minus Misery's Peak) and they hit a couple key Harbor quests (Info is key, bringing in the light, haverdasher, Ringleader and millers debt - solo) you are usually good to go. This only brings you up to level 2 or 3 though. This does require finding someone to open for you, but Korthos is usually pretty easy to find elite farm runs on.

    I've also found that my best favor runner has been a max strength, 12 dex, rest con Dwarf Fighter. Slap on some +1 fullplate, grab any-ol' starting greataxe, and tear through enemies like tissue paper.

    I recommend Fighter over Barbarian because you can get in 3 feats by level 2, which is handy (Weapon focus is nice at low levels), Rage doesn't last particularly long, and haste boost 1 can be handy for taking down tougher bosses (Collaborator/Ringleader specifically). Plus, full plate makes you pretty untouchable at low levels, especially if you can get some Adamantine full plate. Dwarf also lets you spend 2 AP to get +2 damage with greataxes, and another 2 AP for +1 to hit with them. Overall, its a tough, brutal low level killing machine.

    Cleric is great, but it's slower, and you will find you don't even *need* to cast heals 90% of the time, while hirelings or potions will usually cover anything you do need to patch up (Especially if your higher level character can get you a small stack of cure serious potions)

    I have something that might help you bridge the favor gap some, a 30 minute pass to Three Barrel Cove that my paladin, Gwyrddu won in a lottery. Anyway, I'll set you up with it if you find me online (I don't own the pack so I can't help you in quests themselves).

    That sounds good. I much appreciate the offer. I could probably have some guildies help me blaze through it in any case.

    Unfortunately you can't bestow passes when you don't have the pack. I won a bunch of those 3BC passes myself, but since I didn't have the pack, they were useless to me.
    As for OP, we don't know which packs you have, we can't tell you which one to take. VoN wouldn't be on a top priority list for me, and I'd probably have 1000 favor before buying it.

    here is a thread with some Favor runner Builds in it "Another Favor Runner Idea" there are some good suggestions but most are based that one is starting a runner that has Vet status, But there were a couple I believe for starting as lvl 1

    ~~~Here are some suggestions~~~
    not rules, just suggestions
    • Do your favor running on another server then your main and have pre made runners
    • Two accounts work out great for favor running , either dual box the client, or run a second computer
    • Join a Favor running Guild - every server has one, you just need to find one
    • Some servers have a Favor running Chat Channel these are handy to know, so you can find a Elite opener for you
    • 2 accounts and dual boxing helps, one being the Elite opener, the other your runner
    • Know the order your favor running
    • You're not there for the loot, Looting and collecting just slows you down, you avoid any fights, some fights you have yo do just to open a door ( having access to next room)
    • Having 2 accounts one for opener, the other your runner, there is a topic some where in these forums that explains how to dual client
    • Vet Status
    there are some quest you would want to do, it was easy to find and post a link to it, when Favor had it's own section,
    Dang it, taking me too long to find it. if I find the post I'll link it, the bestest quest to run for favor has been posted in many post, may be why I'm having a problem finding it
    Firstly i disagree with not getting chests in the low quests - it takes me 35 mins to solo farm (vet with VIP/dualbox) including grabbing each chest and end reward.. My reasoning is that you can pull ioun stones only from low lvl quests (low quest farming is what favor running is about) for that same reason i usually farm favor on my main server - i can sell a stone i dont want for insane profit/keep it and unsupress it if its good.
    995 favor from vet status = 40 favor runs (19 if you are using a new account, farm each server once then run last 12 runs on same server)
    vet status gets you geared up and ready for any low lvl quest - my pure melee never drinks a single cure light pot.
    doing only 5 runs a day should net you 3500 favor over 28 days - VIP only gets 500 in same timeframe
    I have run to 100 favor on all servers except Sarlona (in progress atm). My char is Dyfenbachia, a human barbarian 1/cleric 2.
    stats: 18 str, 12 dex, 12 con, 12 wis (you don't need con at these levels)
    feats: toughness, mark of passage (expeditious retreat!) @ lvl 1
    enhancements: barb DR boost, barb sprint boost, human versatility, toughness, whatever else you want
    skills: the usual stuff, jump, balance, I put ranks into spot to find some easy secret doors because I like it
    tip: start by doing the haverdasher a couple of times until you pull something auctionable (vial of pure water / essence). AH it and buy a +2 full plate when you hit lvl 2.
    Looks like the consensus is you want melee DPS (THF > TWF at low lvls), fast movement speed (barb splash + Expeditious Retreat is a good combo), and healing (hireling would work, but if you want to minimize plat requirement, self-healing is best). I think cru121's idea of a barb-splashed cleric is a good one; in fact I just started an alt like that, although not as a favor-farmer. So is a barb-splashed bard.
    Two quick-n-dirty favor farmers based on above advice: one's a human barb-splashed cleric w/Least Passage DM; the other's a dwarf barb-splashed bard designed to go WC, with emphasis placed on healing enhs in both. I only planned them out to lvl 7 (1st-tier PrE), but that should be more than enough.
    If I could get a list of Favor farming guilds across servers, or if anyone wants to partner up for this purpose, that would be quite handy. Thank you. :3
    no applicable but I like to go with a Warforged vet start Barbarian / wizard max str.
    What I would go with now not having p2P races or vet start would be
    human barb/wizard max str power attack, THF and wiz extend.
    Move along , Nothing to see here
