Fix Ice Storm Lag Issue

finally had time to do some more testing...
put a evga 9400gt(1gig) pci graphics card into a phenom2 AM3 based system. previously i got ice storm lag with this card in 2 lower quality board/chips(as posted above).
used same vid card drivers and had no lag issues from multiple ice storms/dancing balls/fogs/blades.

conclusions... had nothing to do with latency, operating system, amount of ram(2 gig) but not quality of ram since this had to change, hard drive(used an old 7200rpm IDE. only things that varied greatly was cpu and motherboard.

btw fps varied between 30 and 110. tested in sin red alert zerging, shroud, reavers and tod. This with a simply horrible graphics card for gaming.

Another person here who gets abysmal framerates with ice storm/air elementals. I would love it if this problem received some attention!

to all the folks that say they have a problem with ice storm lag.... it probably would help alot if you posted op sys/chip/mobo/ram/vid card.

That is an interesting result. A video cars with problem has no problems in a different mono/CPU.

So either the processor is the bottleneck, or the graphic card bus is.

Maybe a motherboard BIOS update can help. Just be CAREFUL (and don't do it during an electrical storm - personal experience, true story...) as a wrong move (or a power outage...) can render your motherboard dead.
