Default Is it possible to copy the UI layout from one character to another?

Is it possible to copy the UI layout from one character to another?

I'm just talking about the windows and buttons, etc. Not the actual contents of the hotkey bars.

Im sure it is as people have UI pluggins. Although I dont have the knowledge on this to tell you how to do it...
But honestly, is it really worth the effort?

Ok quite old thread here but
    *bump*
Any progress or suggestions on this?
I play a few different characters and hate having to redo my UI on all of them.

Me too, been wanting this for a long time. Don't think the issue is deemed worthy enough of dev time with a big expansion coming, sadly.

Thumbs up Put this on the list of small simple changes that improve the game loads.

    I support this necro.

Really thought, as a cleric with 10 bar's up at any given time, 2 different chat window's, and the fun of map, orb, Party bar's and what not..

I'd Fricking love a "Save UI Layout"and "Apply UI Layout" function.

Clearly, its already all being tracked Somewhere as we don't have to rebuild the damned thing each login, and with the change to greyed-out-unusable-items, I hope and pray the same is done to/for spells... Oh wait, it already has been for those who memorize spells.

So there's really no good reason I can find/invent/think-of, not to add in a bit more user-friendliness with UI's and retaining data.

Buddylist copy is great. UI's tend to be a pain to get just right and well, there aren't enough bears here. When I get it just right, let me save it 'eh?

*Some more necroing since it is a good request*

This would be really nice not only for making a new character, or TRing one and wanting to import a UI, but when you switch between windowed and full screen mode, the bars move a little each time. Having an option to import your default UI and positions would fix this. Also if you managed to drag things around by mistake.

We're currently trying out a new layout saving feature coming in Xpack - the idea being you can save and load your UI layouts for different characters as well as different machines/resolutions.

I will love you forever if you do this. If you go this route, please also save not just the layout, but the options (hints off, display cooldown timer on/off, custom colours for different damage types, etc)

Heck, people have been asking for this since way back when a great player put out the call for a loud speaker system to be installed in the marketplace Thelanis.

It should save most of the options on the UI settings panel

That would be absolutely brilliant. Would also spare me getting aneurysms after loading a character on a PC with lower resolution and then returning to the high resolution PC. Thank you.

That would be AWESOME!!! On a side note...is there any chance of offering UI Scaling as well? That's something I've hoped for in DDO since I started 2 1/2 years ago...

We've seen these "this game will take all DDOs players away" posts for 6 years now, and DDO still has more players than ever.
