Question Monk Evasion & Non-Ki Weapons

Will a Monk still be able to evade when wielding non-ki weapons but still being Defensively Centered? (no armor)

    TIA

Evasion is Evasion, it all works the same. You could even wear Light armor like a Rogue.

wow I thought it worked differently for Monks, as in they got all their bonus feats only while Centered.

Thanks, that is awesome. Now I don't have to worry about running my Fighter/2Monk in pajamas and kamas just to get the benefit of Evasion.

Yup, if you don't care about being Centered, get a (Mithral) Chain Shirt or a Mithral Breastplate on that sucker.

Question Fast Movement & Slow Fall etc?

Another question; what about Fast Movement and Slow Fall? Will they still be active when wielding non-ki weapons but still being Defensively Centered?

Pretty sure they don't. AFAIK the only ability that requires you to be defensively centered but still allows non-Monk weapons is the Wisdom bonus to AC. You can probably get a higher AC in jimjams than in armour, though it takes a lot of slots to make it work (bracers and a +Wis item, on top of the body slot and a +Dex item).

That's a good question and IDK.

What I do know is that you have neither on a L2 monk. Slow fall is pretty pointless until L20 when it effectively becomes featherfall. Fast movement isn't a big enough boost at low levels for you to see much speed increase -- just get striding.

I just tested it; you lose both Fast Movement and Slowfall equipping a non-Monk weapon, regardless of armour. To amend my previous statement though, you keep both the Wisdom bonus and the Centered bonus to AC.

Slowfall confused me a bit because the feat shows as active even with a non-Monk weapon equipped (whereas stances automatically toggle off when you're uncentered). The animation disappears though, which is funny because it normally stays even when you toggle the feat off.

It's part of the centred animation changes, like that of the unarmed attack. The toggle makes no difference.
