Well, there are other things where reflex saves are needed, no question about that.

I think that the "great" saves is just a comparative thing and reflects not only the naturally higher reflexes of the class but also the target number needed to succeed.

After all, in most AoE situations you don't have advanced warning that you should hit your Improved Uncanny Dodge for that reflex save boost. So the DC in those situations is substantially lower than it might be with traps.

That rogues of all types succeed more regularly than some other classes is as much a factor of their naturally better (and the other classes having naturally lower) reflex saves. Access to evasion and improved evasion is also key in those situations -- something few others get.
