Default We need more Racial FVS gods.

Alrighty, my argument goes as such: "After Favored Souls came into existance, we got half-orcs. The racial FVS gods, such as Lord of Blades, Vulkoor, and the Undying Court, are awesome. If, at some point and time, Turbine added the Eberron equivalents of Gruumsh, some-dwarven-god, and some halfling god? that'd be AMAZING"

This would apply to clerics, paladins, and helf pally dillies as well, right?

    </asking the obvious>

I for one would love to be able to pick which of the Sovereign Host to primarily worship - that would give more freedom for weapon choices and stuff.

Or hey, maybe even include virtues/ideals as faiths. I mean, after all, a Cleric can become a Cleric of FRIENDSHIP if he so desires.

The Dwarven one would give free Dwarven Axe specialisation I assume? (dwarf only)

The HOrc one a 2-hander? (not greatswords since WF have them already I suppose) (HOrc only?)

The Halfling one would give a free throwing weapon (hammers?) - I suppose this could be freely available to all...

I agree w/ more diety options, but in Eberron these are cultural and not racially based. Just sayin'

dwarves would both get dwarven axe AND the worst SLA available.
    H-orcs greataxes

I'd love for halflings to get a free throwing weapon, but...halflings are CRYING out for some sort of weapon they could dual wield. :P

The Lord of Blades probably has a claim as racial. But the other two are mostly cultural, its just that the cultural borders follow some racial ones -- Vulkoor is pretty much exclusively a Xendrik god rather then northren ebberon, and since drow are native to Xendrik... Likewise, the Undying Court is the religion of a specific island, its just that that island's population is mostly (entirely?) elven -- not all elves follow the court, just those of the island. Characters actually should (in my opinion) be able to follow any religion, based on the ebberon fluff of how the churches/gods actually operate. Think its probably the dreaded 'game balance' that was behind the decision not to allow this.

That is... if I am remembering my Ebberon lore right. Which I may well not be.

The only option we could possibly have is taking a specific god from the Sovereign Host.

Arawai, God of Agriculture... and her favored weapon is the morningstar.

Aureon, God of Law and Knowledge... and his favored weapon is the quarterstaff.

Balinor, God of Beasts and the Hunt... and his favored weapon is the battleaxe.

Boldrei, God of Community and Hearth... and her favored weapon is the spear.

Dol Arrah, God of Honor and Sacrifice... and her favored weapon is the halberd.

Dol Dorn, God of Strength at Arms... and his favored weapon is the longsword.

Kol Korran, God of Trade and Wealth... and his favored weapon is the mace.

Olladra, God of Feast and Good Fortune... and her favored weapon is the sickle.

Onatar, God of Artifice and the Forge... and his favored weapon is the warhammer.

Some of these would work ok, Onotar and Balinor, others we don't have the weapons, Boldrei and Dol Arrah, and the rest would be limited to subpar weaponry unless you really wanted to have a +4 bonus to damage with your caster sticks.

Open up Vulkoor (but only if you have Drow unlocked for that server) and Undying Court for all races.

Lord of Blades... eh, a racist cult, leave it Warforged only.

Add a Dwarven religion... one that worships craftmanship. And have their favored weapon be the dwarven axe. Humans should be able to take it, too, but they get Bastard Sword out of it instead. For example...

Dwarven Follower of the Craft - The crafting of weapons is a sacred art, one worthy of worship. You gain +1 to hit with dwarven axes, and may expend a use of Turn Undead to bestow proficiency on another until rest.

Human Follower of the Craft - The crafting of weapons is a sacred art, one worthy of worship. You gain +1 to hit with bastard swords and may expend a use of Turn Undead to bestow proficiency on another until rest.

And also, something to be reminiscent of classic D&D.

Follower of the Path of Light - You believe in the light that vanquishes darkness, in the way that good triumphs over evil. Your light and good aligned spells gain 10% more damage. You gain +2 to hit with light and heavy maces, but suffer a -2 penalty to all slashing and piercing weapons as a result. You are treated as Good by all item and spell effects.

For FVS, of course, have them all be different to match the progression of the Favored aspect of Favored Souls. For Path of Light, taking it will flat-out restrict you to Good alignments, much in the same manner Monk is restricted to Lawful.

Eberron lore man, Eberron lore. They fit in the backstory. There are no "half orc" gods or "dwarf" gods in Eberron. There's the sub-components of the Sovereign Host / Dark Six and some outliers like the Undying Court, Vulkoor, Lord of Blades, Silver Flame, Blood of Vol, Path of Light, etc.

Random drow in Khorvaire probably follow the Flame or the Host; those still in Xendrik esp. the non-urban areas nod to Vulkoor.

I understand your request, but the Eberron cosmology and story is not the same as generic racially-based D&D dieties.

More gods = more options = good

More racial limitations = more being forced into specific blueprints = bad.

The other options would be the less evil gods of the Dark Six (open to everyone) and The Path of Light (kalashtar-only). Which, upon looking at my book, the only non-evil Dark Six god (I was thinking there were two, my bad) is the Traveller.

The Traveller is a chaotic neutral shapechanger, the Giver of Gifts, and has sway over Artifice, Chaos, Travel, and Trickery. His favored weapon is the Scimitar.

The Path of Light is a lawful neutral force, not an actual being, with Law, Meditation, and Protection. It's favored weapon is Unarmed.
