    Default Epic Jidz = Better bonuses?

    At the moment, the epic Jidz-Tetka does give some substantial bonuses for certain builds (+8 ac for tanks, +1 exc wis for the wis based monk)
    However, the signature feature of the Jidz isn't improved by an epic upgrade at all, meaning anyone who doesn't need AC or +1 exc wis but still wants the stance bonus will just leave it at normal (unless they want the slots, but it seems silly to grind an epic JUST for its slots).

    I suggest adding a buff to the current version, to get Epic Tet-Zik, the Enlightened Change:

    Fire - 35% insight bonus to Healing Amplification (10% greater than non-epic version)
    Air - Reduces the Ki cost of the Monk's Abundant Step ability to 1 Ki per use (non-epic gives a fairly pointless +10 stacking bonus to jump, this buff fits the theme and is still useful)
    Earth - Increases unarmed damage by two die steps, and gives 10% damage resistance. (non-epic gives 1 additional die step, that is useful but is hardly epic).
    Water - Makes all unarmed vorpal attacks (natural 20 followed by a confirmation) inflict Epic Thri-Kreen venom: Paralysis, -2d6 dexterity, -4 Fort save. No save.

    Any balancing suggestions would be welcome, damage on Water seems a bit much but most people in Water stance could use the extra DPS to compensate.

    EDIT: adjusted abilities to take into account suggestions regarding balance.

    Compared to Fire and Air, Water and Earth seem a little over the top. Granted these are the 2 stances that are used the least.

    Earth giving a 10% DR similar to the new Shield Mastery mechanic would be thematically appropreate.

    Water should give a better poison like you suggested but not that much damage. I would also like to see it give a fairly large bonus to Unbalencing Strike.

    Think they need to buff water in general, as they did with the earth stance, in stead of balancing it by adding DPS to the bracers.

    The item should be balanced in it self to fit it's theme.
    But I do like the fire and earth suggestions

    Agreed.. Water is tactics and earth defence. In fact the stunning fist bonus you wanted would suit water better.

    way over the top ... especially the earth stance suggestion. +5DC to stunning fist = equiv of 10 wisdom AND 2 die steps = which is 1 TR past life monks and with the best part of robes of equilibrium.

    This epic item took me 1 day to farm so, sorry, I really don't think so.

    Adjusted effects to take comments into consideration.

    Earth loses the boost to stunning fist, since it did seem excessive, and instead is given damage resistance.

    Water loses the untyped damage effect (though honestly, most of the time in epics it would be saved against before it had a chance to deal all the damage) and instead made it -4 to fort saves, to make the tactics idea more viable (easier stuns following crits).

    Air and Fire seemed OK with everyone, neither are directly involving DPS and seem generally useful but not overpowered.

    Actually it is not.

    I have beed grinding the silly Jidz shard for my character on his ranger 1st life and keep doing so now on a ftr/rog/mnk splash 2nd life (no luck so far) since epic Jidz allows any melee a rather rare slot consolidation (GFL etc) so as it can stay in ravager set.

    I know many other non-monk melees who do the same

    the earth stance effect from the jidz doesn't stack with the robes. the best you can get is 2d12 for a non-tr on it.

    I seriously like that idea, +2 exc stats on monks is hard or impossible to get. I'm not sure whether I would prefer your idea or mine, though I think 1 ki Steps would be pretty sweet.
