    Default My Idea to fix ranged

    Please read the whole thing first: I have Ranged toons and love playing them and i recognized they have many flaws and not much love but i think thier rate of fire is fine and that the DPS issue should not be fixed by a faster rate of fire but instead make a ranged character work like one.

    I know we are in a magic realm but to think that a person could pull, load, draw, and aim an arrow in the same time as a fighter can swing one swing to equalize DPS even in a MMO world is a bit ridiculus.

    The strength of a ranged toon is that an arrow is fast and small making it very diifcult to see or defend against especially from a far distance so my idea to help fix ranged and make it play like it should is similar to the helpless change.

    If when firing at or into a mob and you do not have agro the mob should get a yet to be determined negative to AC something akin to a flanking bonus. Because really if they are not paying attention to you(agroed) how do they defend against a missle (maybe just remove dex bonus) and a arrow should get +50% bonus damage (Physical damage only). now once a mob has agroed you would lose both the negative to thier AC and your bonus damage because they are now looking and aware of future shots.

    So the basic breakdown is.....

    1. keep rate of fire the same (obvously an issue for devs and not likely to change anyways)

    2. Give a bonus to hit or reduction in AC to a mob not Agroed on you because really how can they defend themselves. Not an auto hit by any means because you still have to aim and they are still wearing armor to penetrate.

    3. Add +50% physical damage ONLY!!!! to an arrow while not agroed.

    These things have the potential to greatly increase the DPS of a party oriented ranged toon that can do agro management while at the same time compensating for all those that cry about a ranged toon being immune to damage from being at a safe distance as these would not apply past the first shot for solo toons or for the party member who isnt careful about the agro he/she generates.

    Sounds like you'd want to play a Repeater Mechanic (buggy) or an Elven Rogue Archer. They do exactly what you're asking for & can be lots of fun. They got a nice little boost with update 9 as well, sneak attack range was increased by 50%.

    Yeah but prob is not everyone is a Pure Elf and i stop playing a Repeaterbuild in case of the bug.What needed is more Speed and that only when u a Arcane,something like what the Monks get with there every 3 lvl on Speed or something in Enhancelist like Windstance.

    Withour GS Bows and the lvl 18or 20 Slaying arrows u have a problem on dmg.

    A Option would to bring a new Enhanceline for Arcane Archer Only!!not if any make a tempestbuild and use the Enhance.

    Option would be u get a additional Arrow every 6 lvl since lvl 6 or lvl 8 Elf/Halflelf when u got Archane Archer and get the Durration from Manyshoot from 2min to around 2:30 or 3:00 Minutes.Think that would be a good Option to get more Dmg to Ranger.Arcane Arrows only count to 1 Arrow.So 1 Arcane Arrow and 2 normal Dmg Arrow what ur bow give ya.(not sure if this would be possible,but its like a Repeater)

    Another Option would be like the Windstance from Monk to give a Speedenhance from lvl 6 to lvl 18 in 3 Steps,from Normal to Master and Grandmaster every step give 10% more Speed that stack with capstone 20%(Ranger) up to 50%,Setitems didnt stack with that.Only way that Setitems stack if u have the Arcanearcher set and the Abbotquiver if u a Multiclass,so u can get only +50% Speedbonus.This also work only if u a Arcane Archer.

    I play atm a 12Ranger/6Monk/2Fighter with a Earthgrab or LitII Bow and Slaying Arrows and need to swap from time to time around from Range to Meele depends a bit on Quest and Group.

    How come every time someone proposes improvements to ranged attacks it also comes with nerfs?
    Can we not agree to get ranged up to par first before adding even more negatives to an already below par combat type (so below par, in fact, that it can really only be considered broken).
