As per my own suggestion (CL+3 on TR1, CL+5 on 2+), TR2+ should run elites above level to get zero xp penalty. Are you honestly suggesting you have no problems at all running elite von3 at level 7-8?

Edit: I've said it before, effective character level increase for TRs and a slight bump in total exp required would leave the normal grinding where it is currently, but doing above level elites would get you to cap faster with less grind (and probably more deaths).

You are making a mistake in getting caught on the details of this idea and refusing the whole concept because of that.

The problem: TRing rewards a high number of repeat runs of a small number of quests on Normal difficulty, while one level higher than the quest. This is effortless but time consuming. That combination makes for a very boring experience for most people, especially on super-twinked and powerful TR characters.

A solution: Make TRing reward running quests at harder difficulty levels, but instead require less total XP. Thus resulting in less need of repetition of non-challenging content. The option to take the easier-but-longer path should still be open (i.e. less XP when running normal/hard).

The exact proportions and details of the proposed solution are very much up to debate. The details should not disqualify the whole idea though.

This. Several people here are too hung up on "OMG THIS JUST MAKES IT TOO EASY". It can be made so that it is no easier than it is currently. We can let turbine figure out the exact details, but the base idea is great.

    Level 6, 140,000xp (STK 5 times)
Level 7, 200,000 xp (TR 3 times with Doom run farm)
    Level 8, 270,000 xp (D2 farm)
Level 9, 350,000 xp (Bloody crypt farm)
    Level 10, 440,000 xp (5 Shadow Knights)

    Level 12, 660,000 xp (Von 3 Farm)
Level 13, 780,00 xp (Shadow Crypt Farm)
Level 14, 910,000 xp (Wiz King Farm)
Level 15, 1,050,000 xp (GH 1 time through)
Level 16, 1,200,000 xp (Orchard Farm)
Level 17, 1,360,000 xp (Litany Farm)
Level 18, 1,530,000 xp (Vale Farm)
Level 19, 1,710,000 xp (Enter the Kobald Farm, Shroud)
Level 20, 1.900,000 xp (Monastary Farm, Hound, VoD)

The above map, hastiliy put together, in my opinion 90% less effort than what it currently takes to accrue 4.3 million xp. That extra 45% XP is much harder to garner.

I disagree. My perspective is that what Godmodee, Star, Urin and others have accomplished is far from effortless.
It takes absoultely no skill to level a TR. With all the twink gear the quests become completely trivial. It's EASIER to level a TR than a non TR, it only takes alot more time. And the complete lack of challenge also makes it boring.

"Who can do a mind numbing task for the longest period of time wins" was not the game I signed up for.

0, before I capped it got so boring that I quit the game for a year. I returned, but quit yet again due to the boredom of TR.
If I hadn't powerleveled ~15 toon to cap in the year before we had TR I suppose I would be more tolerant.
